Well, hold on to your hat because I'm not making this up. Did you ever hear about the 1961 prohibition by Pope John XXIII against admitting any men with homosexual tendencies into the seminary? That would be the pope who opened Vatican II, and the prohibition came out to all the bishops of the world before any council documents were released. And that is not a typo -- not only "homosexual" but "homosexual tendencies."
Vittorio Messori had better watch his back. If he's carving a niche for himself, that might be fine on the balance sheet, but when his name gets around like this it could end up being the last straw for his enemies. We need a virile conscience like him in that part of the world...
.....and this is why the Church permits its priests and bishops to go to Medjugorje? But why quibble. Right?
"....Church-speak.....": coded communication employed by the Vatican to confuse the faithful. Your admission is late in coming but it is a step forward, sinkspur. Speak out of both sides of its mouth is a common malady for the Vatican in today's world, but not it has been so prudent in the past has it sinkspur. Earthly messengers of heavenly directions have been known to be condemned and burned alive for uttering such folly. It was the Church itself that condemned in other than "....Church speak...." the visionaries at Fatima as well.
Unlike you, sinkspur, the Church has come to admit they do not have a single source monopoly on with whom Heaven speaks.
Have you any comprehension of the vast number of messengers the Holy Mother of God is pleafully extending to save mankind - visions and messages that have not yet, like Medjugorje, received the stamp of approval from the Holy See?
I will not refrain from suggesting you are in denial of the truth of these visions and messages, because God decided upon a woman - not a man - to appear and instruct His Church. The Church as admitted to murdering the messenger, Joan of Arc, and seemingly doesn't want to repeat their arrogant traits, but others, like yourself, would claim there are those in present time who are deserving of death by fire.
Repent, sinkspur. Beg God to forgive your vile declarations. Seek the love and protection of The Holy Mother of God in dealing with bigotry.
Our Lady of La Salette, pray for us.
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.
Saint Pius X, pray for us.
Saint Padre Pio, pray for us.
Sister Maria Lucia of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart, pray for us.
Seek further direction from God.
More conspiracy nonsense; guys like Messori know that stirring the pot will appeal to the "grassy knoll" types and sell newspapers and the eventual book.
Transvestites? Of course you're making that up.
How would the Church stop them? And why would they stop them? They go there to pray to the Blessed Mother, even if she is not appearing 24/7 to a bunch of cigarette-smoking seers.
Have you any comprehension of the vast number of messengers the Holy Mother of God is pleafully extending to save mankind - visions and messages that have not yet, like Medjugorje, received the stamp of approval from the Holy See?
Why do you need visions, Robert? Blessed are those who have not seen but have believed anyway. We have the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, which is the greatest miracle of all, yet some Catholics will mortgage their houses to chase an apparition in a foggy window.
but others, like yourself, would claim there are those in present time who are deserving of death by fire.
What nonsense!! Playing the martyr is the last defense of those who have run out of things to say.
These "visions" have been going on for 20 years at Medjugorje. All the Church will say about them is that there is no evidence that the Blessed Mother is actually appearing.
If you think she is, have at it.
A conspiracy about conspiracies. You're taking this nonsense to a new level.
What did Sister Lucia do prior to entering a convent in 1948?
Just "sinking" to whatever level you wish to go.
The question is my answer.
Perhaps my haste has introduced a difficulty.
I'll give backing up a try. If you go back and look at the "apparitions" of Medjugorje over the years you find curious things that no other authentic appartitions of Our Lady have entailed, things like the visionaries touching her and seeing their sins stain her clothes turning her all mottled and soiled as she fades away (remember we are talking about the "Immaculate" Mary in whom there is no stain of sin); or the visionaries hiding and smoking cigarettes, etc., in disobedience to their parents (4th commandment) while they wait to have another "vision;" or the entity seen allegedly consents to indifferentism, which is a heresy.
You might ask why there is no condemnation from the heirarchy on doctrinal grounds if any of these kinds of things take place there. The answer is, that since Vatican II any doctrinal condemnations have become curiously out of date, anachronistic and passe. This is the tip of the iceburg....
Ain't it interesting how people behave so predictably? If a stodgy liberal sees his bastions collapsing all around him, he refuses to discuss the objective reality of the collapse, but rather launches personal insults toward those men whose work it is to take note of the fact that the collapse is in fact taking place, and to accurately describe which wall is falling now, and why.
This is the stuff of real comedy. There are some enterprising comics doing gigs these days, and I suspect they will increase, in which they simply address the material of what happened at Vatican II. I suppose the time is finally right, but it's too bad it took this long.
She was in the Dorothean convent before going to the Carmelites in Coimbra. It is rather rare for the authorities to approve of a nun changing religious orders after taking final vows, but her case was rather unique, as she was pestered by tourists and pilgrims for her whole lifetime. I once wrote a letter to her, had it translated into Portugese by a scholar, and sent it several times in hopes she would one day actually see a copy. I don't know if she ever did. They screened her mail pretty seriously.
I bet Mel Gibson didn't have a problem in seeing Sister Lucia.
