BISHOP GAO CONFIRMED DEAD - MYSTERIOUSLY DIES IN CHINESE PRISON
AsiaNews ^ | 31 January, 2005 | Editors

Rome (AsiaNews) – Mgr John Gao Kexian, unofficial Bishop of Yantai died in the evening of January 24 2005 in a hospital in the city of Bingzhou (Shandong). He had been in prison for the previous five years.

His body was cremated and buried the day following his death in the presence of police officers. No relative or faithful were allowed to attend the event. The Bishop died without any religious comforts and his body was not blessed.

Because of the news blackout surrounding his case and concerns about his health rumours about his death had already appeared in September 2004. The Vatican, which had received the news from a nun, had itself announced his passing on September 11, 2004. It is very likely that she had learnt about the Bishop’s rapidly failing health and had alerted the outside world.

This time, Bishop Gao’s death was confirmed by several sources in Shandong province. Relatives who wanted to visit him in hospital in Bingzhou found that he was already dead.

Police refused an autopsy and speedily proceeded to bury him.

The Bishops’ remains now lie in a cemetery on the outskirts of Gaomiaoli village, near Bingzhou.

Rest in peace, Bishop Gao.

You are no longer bound by the chains of atheistic communism, through years of continuous persecution suffered by you, the bishops, priests and laity of the 'underground' Roman Catholic Church in China.

I am certain your steadfast loyalty to His One True Church despite pressure from the Vatican to merge with heretic bishops loyal to the Chinese government will be rewarded for eternity.

**His body was cremated and buried the day following his death in the presence of police officers.**

**Police refused an autopsy and speedily proceeded to bury him.**

Makes one wonder about why there was such a hurry?

The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church. Don't think for a moment this could never happen here. The Lord willing, not during my lifetime, for I am too much a coward.

The PRC demons have the blood of a true martyr on their hands.

Just as our country looks the other way for worldly interests regarding the Red Chinese monsters, our Church looks the other way in regard to the "Bishops" who aid these ghouls.

Very sad, unless one views him as a true martyr for the faith, which I do. The Communist thugs and murderers have caused this and there should be recognition of their despicable act and accountability, not to mention OUTRAGE. Don't hold your breath waiting though. We care more for miscreants and the term martyr is often mis-applied in present day society.
May Bishop Gao rest in the peace of God's embrace.

REQUIEM aeternam dona eis, Domine: et lux perpetua luceat eis. Ps 64: 2-3. Te decet hymnus Deus in Sion; et tibi reddetur votum in Jerusalem: exaudi orationem meam, ad te omnis caro veniet. Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine: et lux perpetua luceat eis.

ETERNAL rest give unto them, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon them. Ps. A hymn, O God, becometh Thee in Sion; and a vow shall be paid to Thee in Jerusalem: hear my prayer; all flesh shall come to Thee. Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon them.

Or Bishop Fellay, perhaps?

I've said several times since I hope it is Bishop Fellay. Although I doubt it, the way the Vatican is earnestly dealing with SSPX it is possible. I have been told that someone from the SSPX in Europe is in contact with the Vatican daily.

pressure from the Vatican to merge with heretic bishops loyal to the Chinese government

What pressure is this?

New Vatican Guidelines for China - July 3, 2004

To: All Legitimately Appointed Bishops of the Catholic Dioceses in China ... I encourage that we all firmly maintain the principle of faith and full communion.  This is very important in order to belong to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church ... The Holy Father or the Holy See will never force the loyal/underground Church community to make concessions on the question of principles ... Obviously, the Patriotic Association has the characteristic of being in schism ... Bishops and priests can never accept the principles underlying the Patriotic Association ... All legitimate priests and deacons should obey the "8-point" directive, and will therefore not have "communicatio in sacris" either with illegitimate bishops and religious or with those religious under the Patriotic Association ... For the sake of prudence, when reconciling with the Patriotic Association’s priests and deacons, or when accepting into the diocese these priests and deacons who were ordained without a dimissorial letter from their proper ordinary, the following procedures must be observed ... He must read the "professio fidei," and promise never to speak or do anything damaging the reconciliation.  He must also clearly declare that he opposes the Patriotic Association and its "three autonomies" principles ... He must publicly reject the principles of the Patriotic Association ... He must publicly declare that he no longer belongs to the Patriotic Association ... He must declare that he will not have any further relationship with the Patriotic Association in the future, nor he will support it ... He must declare that he obeys the "8-point" directive, and that he will not have any "communicatio in sacris" with any illegal bishops or religious belonging to the Patriotic Association.

Well, are they in schism or not?

That's what it says.

I gotcha.

Just like the Pope never said, "It is as it was", regarding Gibson's movie.
However, if it can be proved that he did say it, then it was not meant for public knowledge.
