Dear Friends,
Please join me today
in prayerfully remembering the reason for the season
and in sharing the glad tidings
of Christmas
where we remember the birth of our Lord,
and what it can mean for mankind.
Merry Christmas
Sweet, perfect child
laying in Our Lady's lap,
how amazing to think of who you are.
Dim the light
in this stable tonight,
and yet, the Light of the world
has come to join us.
Sweet, perfect child
laying in our Lady's lap,
how amazing to think of who you are.
Straw and the lowing
of cattle tonight
greet your coming,
forcasting how many
would have no room for you
in the inn of their lives,
yet still with the shepherds,
those of us who listen to the singing of heaven
come and find you ever anew
to discover the love that brings you here.
Sweet perfect child,
laying in our Lady's lap,
how amazing to think of who you are.
Now, with Mary,
let us celebrate
the wonder of your coming.
Now, with the angels,
let us raise our voices
for the wonder of you love.
Sweet perfect child,
laying in our Lady's lap,
how amazing to think of who you are.
Have a blessed Christmas!
Prayer Ping!
Please join us in celebrating the reason for the season, the incarnation of Jesus Christ our Lord.
May the Peace of God who grants all understanding keep your hearts and minds filled with the Love of Christ.
God Bless you, and God Bless America and our Allies, our Troops, their Families and Liberty. Amen
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
for he has visited and brought redemption to his people.
He has raised up a horn for our salvation
within the house of David his servant,
even as he promised through the mouth
of his holy prophets from of old:
salvation from our enemies
and from the hand of all who hate us,
to show mercy to our fathers
and to be mindful of his holy covenant
and of the oath he swore to Abraham our father,
and to grant us that,
rescued from the hand of enemies,
without fear we might worship him
in holiness and righteousness
before him all our days.

Reflections for Advent and Christmas, [November 28, 2004 - January 9, 2005]
A Puritan Prayer
O lover to the uttermost,
May I read the meltings of thy heart to me
in the manger of thy birth,
in the garden of thy agony,
in the cross of thy suffering,
in the tomb of thy resurrection,
in the heaven of thy intercession.
Bold in this thought I defy my adversary,
tread down his temptations,
resist his schemings,
renounce the world,
am valiant for truth.
Deepen in me a sense of holy relationship to thee,
as spiritual bridegroom,
as Jehovah's fellow,
as sinners' friend.
I think of thy glory and my vileness,
thy majesty and my meanness,
thy beauty and my deformity,
thy purity and my filth,
thy righteousness and my iniquity.
Thou has loved me everlastingly, unchangeably,
may I love thee as I am loved;
Thou hast given thyself for me,
may I give myself to thee.
Thou has died for me,
may I love to thee,
in every moment of my time,
in every movement of my mind,
in every pulse of my heart.
May I never dally with the world and its allurements,
but walk by thy side,
listen to thy voice,
be clothed with thy graces,
and adorned with thy righteousness.
Amen
O beautiful star of Bethlehem
Shining far through shadows dim
Giving the light for those who long have gone
Guiding the wise men on their way
Unto the place where Jesus lay
O beautiful star of Bethlehem
Shine on
O beautiful star the hope of life
Guiding the pilgrims through the night
Over the mountains 'til the break of dawn
Into the land of perfect day
It will give out a lovely ray
O beautiful star of Bethlehem
Shine on
O beautiful star of Bethlehem
Shine upon us until the glory dawns
Give us a lamp to light the way
Unto the land of perfect day
O beautiful star of Bethlehem
Shine on
O beautiful star the hope of grace
For the redeemed, the good and the blessed
Yonder in glory when the crown is won
Jesus is now the star divine
Brighter and brighter He will shine
O beautiful star of Bethlehem
Shine on
O beautiful star of Bethlehem
Shine upon us until the glory dawns
Give us a lamp to light the way
Unto the land of perfect day
O beautiful star of Bethlehem
Shine on
O beautiful star of Bethlehem
Shine on

Fear Not!
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone 'round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Fear not!
Have no fear
even when the night grows dark,
even when the midnight nears,
for he who made time and space
turns to you
comes to you
loves you
enough to
be born as one of you,
be born as the poorest of you,
there,
laying in a borrowed bed,
a feedbox
filled with hay,
no room for him
with the rich,
the powerful,
the busy,
the distracted,
the uncaring.
But even so,
still he comes,
and the night lights up
at the miracle
of love
that must sing through the night,
as the fabric
of normal life is ripped
to let in a new reality,
God with us
is born.
Fear not!
Such a love story,
he who is all,
becomes
a poor child,
who will know the taste of dust,
and rough clothes,
and hunger,
and skinned knees,
and the joy of friends,
and the loss of loved ones,
and the sorrow we bear
in pain,
in illness
in cruelty done to us,
in sin harbored in our hearts,
rejection and how it feels to receive hate,
and seeing the fullness of it,
he will stretch out his arms
in the most loving embrace,
as if to take us all in,
and crying out
will give his all,
bloody and beaten
and die of a broken heart
that we might live,
all for love.
Fear not!
Have this mind among yourselves,
which is yours in Christ Jesus,
who,
though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,
but emptied himself,
taking the form of a servant,
being born in the likeness of men.
And being found in human form
he humbled himself and became obedient unto death,
even death on a cross.
Therefore God has highly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name
which is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
Amen!
