Seems like your family is selling out to the PC lifestyle, to heck with your faith. Too strident, GC. It sounds more like Al's family-in-law is trying to deal with the fact they love their son, despite the fact that he is a practicing homosexual. I will not cast the first stone at them -- what a ghastly situation for parents to have to live with.
Family stuff is hard enough without something like this.
