"For decades, Arafat symbolized the hopes and aspirations of Palestinians and brought international attention to their cause," [Rev. R. Randy Day, chief executive of the United Methodist Board of Global Ministries] said. "The most fitting tribute to him would be strong and deliberate measures by Palestinians and Israelis — and by the international community — to uphold international law and human rights."

Meanwhile the PCUSA tries to clean up their mess over withdrawing investments in Israel.

The mainlines = the anti-church.

As the United Methodist "church" is officially a pro-abort "church," nothing they do surprises me.

I grew up in the Metnodist Church. One of the reasons I left was to find a more conservative denomination. Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) since 1992 and not lookin' back.

"For decades, Arafat symbolized the hopes and aspirations of Palestinians and brought international attention to their cause,"

Here's some recommended viewing for all Methodists:

I used to think of Methodism as a relatively conservative branch of Protestantism. Either I was wrong from the start or something happened when I wasn't looking.

Rank and file Methodists have no clue.

But they find out, the gravy train is coming to a screeching halt.

The UMC has been completely hijacked. I couldn't endure the comparisons of GW to Caesar I heard three years ago at Xmas, and haven't been back since.

Rev. R. Randy Day would have issued a statement supporting King Herod's murdering of countless innocent children in search of finding the Christ child:

"For decades, King Herod has worked tirelessly in behalf of his supporters, and how sad it is that he died before his work could be completed."

Hello "Reverend"? (and I use that term loosely)

ARAFAT WAS AN F'IN TERRORIST & MURDERER!

Get a CLUE Magoo!

I grew up a Methodist, but after reading about the Church's praise of blood thirsty killers like Castro and Arafat, I can't bring myself to go to church anymore.

Most churchs today seem to resemble left wing 527's more than they do places of worship. The Methodist church is but one example. Look at the Catholic Church's support of the Communist in Nicaragua, back when Ortega was actually rounding up Priests.

I just can't stand the thought of even one penny of my donations going to support the WCC or similar, "Hate America / Love a Dictator" organizations.

Isaiah 5
20 Woe to those who call evil good

who put darkness for light

who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter.
