To sell Christianity to the Pagans in the early centuries the 'church' adopted rituals and practices that are not biblical.
Seems like you disagree with Paul's vision in Damascus? Seems like you think we should all follow OT laws?

I'm not sure exactly where on earth you guys dreamed up the crazy idea of a celibate priesthood.
"We guys" didn't "dream" this up. If you weren't so ignorant as to not read about the Church's teachings beyond what your mullah tells you, then you would know that the Church had married priests right up until the 9th century and the Eastern Rite branches of the CAtholic church (like the MAronnite Catholic church) have married priests.

To me the horror of pedophile priests is stark testament to the evil of this practice. One has to be under a spell not to see it. Just THIS makes Roman Catholicism in danger of hellfire
Coo, so you've fallen for the lib media's sensationalism? What's the percentage of these fallen priests? You go a step further than the media and instead of villifying the other priests, the majority of whom are holy men, you villify the Church of God?

On your opinion of Catholics being like Muslims, I would like to state that it was Catholic Europe who beat back the Muslims in Vienna in 1683 . (Deo gratias!)
What "mercy forgets is that the Church is Christ created, nurturing the faith for 2 millenia, not some man-made ideology likeIslam

Nope, you're not bashing, what you ARE doing is spouting medieval propaganda that is just like a Muslime who is taught in his mosque that Christians are polytheists because we believe in the Trinity

I won't say anything about the Episcopalian beliefs, but I think your church has sadly been hijacked by some very very wrogn individuals like Gene Robinson. However, I've heard of some Episcopalian churchs that are fighting back against the ECUSA's agenda. I wish you well

The difference between all Protestant denominations is that they emphasize one aspect of Truth at the expense of other aspects of Truth. That is also the difference between one bad Catholic and another bad Catholic.
lol!
Say, Sukhoi, are you RC or Marthomite or Syrian Catholic?

1st -- let's not make this into an Orthodox- bashing post. I DO disagree with my Orthodox brethern on many points and raise that up on specific posts, but this is NOT the post to do so, nor is it a post to talk about denominations other than our own -- Atari simply wants to know about the different denominations, not the muck-racking a la mercy.

Are you saying that you pray for God to inform her of your prayer? I've no problem with that.
Nope, we pray TO God. period.

Apologies for the anti-Luther mantras on this post. Quite out of context and not in the spirit of what atari was searching for.

Did you plan to gain some added influence through posting a dozen times when one would have sufficed?
Your problem is you just don't know what a Protestant is. You are not alone as most protestants don't know what they are either. I protest the RC church. I despise many of its practices and I believe it to be literally shot through with error and blasphemous doctrine. At this time it is driving people to literally despise the Gospel. It's very Bishops conspiring together to cover up, if not participate in, a crime.
By the grace of God your institution still points the way to Christ. They make it difficult and fraught with detours but .... they have not lost their first love .... yet. Probably about as many sinners find salvation through Roman Catholicism as do the pew warmers in your average dead boring denominational Protestant church.
The irony is monumental.
Our job, as Christians, was to take the Gospel to all men. Well we've done about a good a job as did the Hebrews at establishing God's kingdom in the Promised Land.
Just like they, we muffed it. After many centuries of failure we split right down the middle and even warred with each other instead of glorifying God. But God is not mocked. His word shall prevail... even if just as He did on the Cross ... He makes it happen Himself.
Try to remember that I have attacked the institution of the Roman Catholic Church. Not you as an individual. I know it is hard for you but try to refrain from ad homonym attacks.

I'm objecting to your misinterpretations not to Protestant teachings. Since you don't claim to belong to any Protestant church, what makes you think I'm referring to THEIR teachings, I'm talking about YOUR teachings, Aziz,
I protest the RC church. I despise many of its practices and I believe it to be literally shot through with error and blasphemous doctrine
So, you are against God's Church? You despise it's practise of worshipping The Christ? You despise its doctrine of worhipping God?
Your propaganda piece has been shot to pieces (pun intended as was the TARDIS) by NYer in post #158. The Church in not in error and is not blasphemous.

You mean your posts like
I'm not sure exactly where on earth you guys dreamed up the crazy idea of a celibate priesthood. I just know it did not come from heaven as it is not only NOT in the Bible .... it contravenes direct Bible teaching. To me the horror of pedophile priests is stark testament to the evil of this practice. One has to be under a spell not to see it. Just THIS makes Roman Catholicism in danger of hellfire.
Or you refrain from ad homonym attacks? like in post # 58:
Are you a fool? You sound like one. You sound like a person who knows nothing of the history of their church. Just like a Muslim.
Now, Salman, Ali, Haseena whatever be your name, if you so believe in what you want to say, you could very easily have described it. However, you've chosen to not describe God, but launch a diatribe against Christ's Church. If you have a central theme you believe in, then spout it out, but don't base your beliefs on negatives (NOT Catholic, NOT Orthodox, NOT main-line Protestant, NOT... NOT.... NOT....)

Sorry for saying you guys when I meant the RC church. Still don't think that qualifies as an ad-hominem attack. The fool that was called such was in response to a personal attack but is not the general tenor of my posts.
Your insistence that your church is Christ's church is just silly. It is the very foundation or soil for the propagation of hate. Personally I don't know how one can practice the blasphemy of praying to another than God (Mary and various other 'saints') and still be a true disciple of Christ .... but God is a God of miracles. I leave it alone.
Most of the other egregious sins attached to 'the church' are fomented by it's priests and its priestly structure so the duped parishioners are sinless themselves although they suffer by dint of the power held over them by said priests.
Why you would think me a Muslim really is beyond me. I would be an atheist before I would sink to that inhuman practice.

Ah, but that's just the point -- we do NOT pray to Mary or to the saints.

Note: SOME of the priests, not all.

Do you have an idea aboutIslam before you say such a thing? I don't think so. I don't think you really know about Catholicism, and that's why you say such wrong things -- refuted, I might repeat in post #158. I think you are Muslime because Muslimes are brainwashed from the time they are born that Christianity is evil, etc. and your pieces seem to reflect what they say.
While you may have faith (and good if you do), to express your faith in a negative sense (ANTI-CAtholic, ANTI-main stream Protestants) is not good and tells me that your faith roots may be weak. If you do find strong faith roots outside the Catholic church, so be it, but those strong faith roots would express themselves differently, not on the attack.
