Dublin archbishop supports legal rights for gay couples
Online.ie ^ | 16th November 2004

The Catholic Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin has indicated his approval for giving legal rights to gay couples.

He is the first senior religious figure in Ireland to have made a statement of this kind.

It followed comments from Taoiseach Bertie Ahern that extending tax and inheritance rights to gay couples would be the "fairest" and "most Christian" way to deal with the issue.

"the Holy See might have a little bit more concern for orthodoxy than you would ever give it credit for."

Please explain the orthodoxy behind Kasper, Danneels, Suenens, Mahony, McCarrick etc etc.

"The Pope has been very vocal in speaking out against the sinfulness of homosexual activity and against "same sex marriage"."

The Pope has been far more vocal in promoting ecumania (indifferentism repackaged), a sin against the first commandment. Once you start preaching that "all religions lead to God", who cares what you have to say against sodomy.
Other "great religions" see things slightly differently - and according to the pope, these differences shouldn't be a source of division.

"Lehmann might have been stupid and misguided and yet not be an "abortion advocate"."

Lehmann was warned by numerous pro-life groups for several years of the grave immorality of his actions.
He even allegedly defied some Vatican officials who tried to talk some sense into him.
Yet, despite all of this, he was rewarded with a red hat, and will be voting in the next conclave - barring Divine intervention.

Don't be surprised when Pope John Paul makes this sodomite activist a cardinal.

It's been done before....

Thanks to our sodomite-friendly cardinals and bishops, the agenda is being openly promoted everywhere - especially at once-Catholic university campuses...

Justifies a road trip to go up there in the middle of the night and remove all things still Catholic before they are further desecrated. Know any exorcists who might want to come along and clean up after us?

I have not been able to find online a statement from the Archbishop articulating the views attributed to him. Can you provide a link or explicit cite?

"Know any exorcists who might want to come along and clean up after us?"

There aren't enough exorcists in the whole country.

Is there even one of them left in the country.

As I understand it Amchurch doesn't believe in Satan or Hell. No more exorcists.

Just sex counselors and psychologists.

Oh its worse than that. At Notre Dame the gay agenda is promoted from the pulpit of the Basilica and every mass on campus was commandeered to this cause. After mass this pledge card was handed out

A PLEDGE OF COMMUNITY
Because God has created all people in His image and likeness:
I will strive to recognize and acknowledge the goodness and worth present in lesbian, gay and bisexual members of the Notre Dame family.
I will stand with Christ, in community,
with all my brothers and sisters.

Because words have the power to build up and tear down both individuals and communities:
I will not participate in or tolerate jokes or the use of degrading language about any member of this community.
I will stand with Christ, in community,
with all my brothers and sisters.

Because my lesbian gay and questioning peers are often the victims of rejection and abuse:
I will strive to be a peacemaker.
I will stand with Christ, in community, with all my brothers and sisters.

Because I stand to learn so much from someone who has a different experience and perspective of life from mine:
I will attempt to be open-minded
and keep an open heart before all people I meet.
I will stand with Christ, in community,
with all my brothers and sisters.

Because we call Notre Dame a family;
I will stand with Christ, in community,
with all my brothers and sisters.
