Silenced priest warns of gay crisis
The Washington Times ^ | November 15, 2004 | Julia Duin

Starting today, 290 of the nation's Catholic bishops will meet at the Capitol Hyatt for their yearly business meeting and to tie up loose ends on the massive sexual-abuse crisis that has shaken the U.S. Catholic Church to its core in the past two years. Although it's been less than a year since the church revealed that there were 10,667 cases of abuse committed by 4,392 priests in a 50-year period, the message at the meeting will be that the crisis is under control.

But it's far from over, says a local Catholic priest who says the true source of the crisis is a priesthood that is "honeycombed" with homosexual clerics, especially in the Diocese of Arlington. However, attempts by the Rev. James Haley, 48, to persuade his bishop of the problem have backfired. After hearing from the priest about numerous instances of homosexual activity among diocesan clergy, Arlington Bishop Paul Loverde ordered the priest silenced Oct. 23, 2001. This "precept of silence" — usually only employed during church trial proceedings — is rarely used to silence a whistleblower. Thus, in the past three years, Father Haley's case, which also involves accusations of sexual misconduct against him, has become a cause celebre among many Catholics in the Diocese of Arlington.

Bumping another reality of how the homosexuals have embedden themselves in most churches.

I've been following the Kunz investigation. Reading between the lines the Sheriff's Department has come to your conclusion. Every possible stone was turned except in Madison. There there was a stone wall.

The stroke used to kill Father Kunz looks to me, not having seen the body, to have been done by a trained man. A lot depends on whether from front or back, etc. Obviously someone who Father Kunz knew and trusted to a degree. No trace of the perpetrator, escape vehicle, physical evidence, and a professional wound, it is obvious what happened and who did it. As slick as Shin Bet.

One thing that struck me about the "Agony in Albany" article is the absolute self-confidence of the men in that circle, and the obvious recruitment of young guys into the seminary by that bishop, to promote the "new" vision of the (un)Church.

Sounds like a real sack of pus that needs to be washed out there in Albany. And there's a dead body in it, too.

Kick the gay priests and bishops out. Allow priests to marry women.

Yup, yup, and yup.

Madison is one black hole--and Chicago is another. Fr. K got pretty close to some info from Chicago.

Surprised that "Fr." Greeley doesn't have personal protection....

Allow priests to marry women.

That's not the problem. Queer men don't turn heterosexual when they are allowed to marry.

Exaggerated perhaps. But the severe punishment visited on Father Haley is outrageous.

"Priests Down, Seminarians Up

Could it be the beginning of an answer to Leo XIII prayer??

"St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle....."

Maybe the hundred year free reign is coming to an end?

There are so many obviously intelligent people here, and most of them have zeroed in on the problems in the Catholic Church.

Is it posible that Bishops are not as smart as Freepers, and think that homosexuals and pedophiles are the ANSWER to it's problems?

I too wonder about most Bishops fondness for homos.

The devil wants us all to lose heart. Don't do it, and don't get caught outside the Catholic Church when your time comes

Arguss, what does this mean ...don't get caught outside the Catholic Church when your time comes?

This current crop of Bishops they're inside the Church, aren't they? Yesterday at Mass our Priest spoke of Satan in the Church. By way of anaology he referenced that scene in the exorcist where Satan is finally driven out of the child's body and goes through the wall, leaving the word confusiion scrawled across that wall. Who are the true priests, who are the false ones? This stuff scares the bejeepers out of me.

Here in Rochester, the closing of several Catholic schools was announced over the weekend, and our local radio talk show guy addressed the issue. He said that by any measure you want to take, Catholicsm in the US is in broad retreat.

He's a Mormon (I think), and he spoke positively of the contributions of Catholics to the US, especially with the excellent schools they always maintained. So, he wasn't trying to denigrate the Faith at all.

I feel sick about this piece, and everytime I hear of a school closing it's as if I'm losing a personal belonging. I'm just sick about this, and when I'm not sick about it, I'm enraged. Some of these bishops must be in league with Satan to have laid our Church so low.

"Kick the gay priests and bishops out."

That wouldn't leave us with many priests and bishops.
Although the current pope seems hell-bent on promoting the worst of the perverts to the sacred college of cardinals, natural law is having some effect now that Catholic clergy are dying of HIV/AIDS at 4 times the national average.

‘The modern priest,’ continued Rossi, ‘ is someone who is willing to talk about Christian values in the context of a society which contradicts those values. He is not a moral policeman but someone who walks beside you and helps you in your struggle with your own humanity, as he struggles with his own humanity’. . . .

A real priest is someone who was fortunate enough to have a topnotch spiritual advisor who made sure, when he left the seminary, he was a spiritually formed shepherd and has not had to 'find' himself while trying to lead others to Christ.

Just as an illustration of what we are dealing with - and this is not entirely off topic - I accidently dial switched past the end of the mass at the National Shrine in DC with all of our illustrious bishops.......as the recessional, they were doing the "processional samba" to GOSPEL MUSIC, complete with hand clapping & swaying.

Now aside from the obvious liturgical impropriety of this, it is indicative of the attitude of the bishops......what is of the mind of Christ, and of His Vicar be damned.....they just dont care! Its just business as usual, in the USCCB. They are forging ahead with their hell-bent agenda of furthering.....and doing nothing to stop......the autodestruction of the church.

Earlier I watched EWTN coverage of their business sessions. I can clearly see that they will do nothing to curb the homosexual infestation of the clergy - neither to stop the recruiting of "fresh meat", nor to expel the offenders. Any further action they do with regard to the abuse crisis will just be window dressing.

The root cause is that they do not care. A certain (perhaps large) percentage of them are either gay, or are in some manner blackmailable. So they are kept in line with the gay/marxist/autodestruct agenda. Were I a good, orthodox Bishop, I would not stand a chance. I would either have some item from my pastheld up as a blackmail threat, or receive a physical threat, or see some other threatened articificial or real crisis loom before me.......all to keep me "in line".

No Bishop may deviate from "the agenda", nor rebel against the "superforce" which is controlling them.

Any truly good priest or bishop - in order to be truly effective - needs to get armor. Both the spiritual kind, and the kind with firepower!

Fr. Haley definitely exposed some real scandals. However, he seemed to acquire at taste for it, kind of like a tiger acquires a taste for blood. Too many of his allegations can't be substantiated. If he can't substantiate them, he shouldn't make them.

An excellent point! Thank you for making it.

One need only watch EWTN's The Journey Home to understand how our Lord and His Blessed Mother are calling people to the Catholic Church, using extraordinary means. Last night's segment featured a former Hare Krishna who served for 15 years as a Braman, intent on drawing christians into his pagan church. It was the Blessed Mother who spoke to his heart about her Son.
