ROME, Italy, Jul. 15, 2004 (CNA) - Fr. Aldo Buonaiuto, director of an emergency help line that assists young people wanting to get out of satanic cults, expressed alarm this week at the growth of Satanism, which has created a market for consecrated hosts in Italy.
In statements published in the Catholic magazine Famiglia Cristiana, Fr. Buonaiuto explained that a proliferation of cults exists which practice black masses, with the profanation of consecrated hosts, rape and torture.
We know of cases of consensual vampirism, and also the assaulting of young people who have been drugged in the course of ritualistic orgies.
According to Fr. Buonaiuto, A true market for consecrated hosts exists. They sell for 80-500 euros, depending on the size of the host, the prominence of the church from which they were stolen, and who consecrated them.
The highest price is placed on those that are consecrated in the churches of Rome, above all those closest to the Vatican. They are stolen in two ways: from the tabernacle, but also at the time of Holy Communion, he said.
Some cults perform rituals with the consecrated hosts while under the influence of LSD or cocaine, led frequently by ex-priests who have offered themselves in the service of Satan, he told Famiglia Cristiana.
According to Fr. Buonaiuto, the proliferation of these cults is very much connected with the loss of the sense of the sacred. Man needs to fill himself with something, and today the market is full of superficial alternatives, among them, Satanism, he concluded.
A frightening story. Be afraid for your children, guard them well.
Given the volume of hosts distributed during any papal mass, it would be fairly easy to pocket one of these without every being detected.

How does one know if a consecrated host is from a particular church or consecraated by a particular priest? You certainly should not trust a follower of the Father of Lies to tell the truth about where he got it and who consecrated it.
As a non-Catholic I ask: Is there a distinctive mark placed upon the Host identifying it?
"You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that -- and shudder." Jas.2:19. I believe the Lord will use this vile profaning of what is sacred for His own purposes.
"As a non-Catholic I ask: Is there a distinctive mark placed upon the Host identifying it?"
Nope, one could make a tidy profit by grabbing a box of unconsecrated hosts and selling them.
However, ex-Satanists and priests who are familiar with Satanic cults claim that those deeply immersed in Satanism, especially Satanic priests, can pick a consecrated host among a group of non-consecrated ones.
These would be men (and possibly women) who have devoted their entire lives to the practice of black magic and are totally in the service of Satan. As opposed to teenagers listening to heavy metal music.
Agreed. There is no honor among thieves.

As a Catholic I ask: Why dont these satanic cults use the crackers from Protestant services?
That would make sense. I was just listening to an interview with the exorcist for the archdiocese of NY, Fr. LeBar, who said that one of the tests or "provocations" of a person suspected of being possessed is to give him several glasses of water to drink over a period of time, one being a glass of holy water. Invariably, the possessed person will react with revulsion to the holy water, spewing it out.
Apparently, even the satanists know that the host is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ.
Or else, they'd use the "cracker."
Ostencibly this should also work with a glass of tap water, into which a drop of holy water has been added, don't you agree?

Actually, we use matzos which can be purchased in the grocery store. Further, we do not transubstantiate it so there would be no sacramental reason to use matzos that were distributed at a service.
In fact, we discard the unused matzos and grape juice. That is abhorrent in RC theology but not inconsistent with our Zwinglian theology.
Now, Lutherans would have a different answer since they do affirm consubstantiation.
Have you ever read the book Eucharist Miracles. There are plenty of stories (documentations) of abuse of the Eucharist and Christ's retribution. The Lord will not tolerate it.
Jesus is no longer on the cross, He has risen proving the acceptability of His sacrifice by the Father and displaying His victory over death .
I would pray to the victorious Lord and Savior .
1Cr 15:14 And if Christ be not risen, then [is] our preaching vain, and your faith [is] also vain.
Once a matzos, always a matzos :-)
In fact, we discard the unused matzos and grape juice.
Just curious. Why wouldn't you re-use it? Or is this a function of how often you observe the Lord's Supper? If I remember correctly, Zwingli celebrated it four times a year.
I believe its a little deeper than that. As Its me stated, even the satanists know that the host is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ.
My best friend in the whole world is a devout Evangelical. Never once have I told her how to pray, and never once has she told me how to pray. I suggest you do the same.
Dr. Steve: "In fact, we discard the unused matzos and grape juice."This question has arisen in my church as well. I am in charge of assembling the elements for each communion service, and we always have a LOT left over, both unbroken and broken. I've never been quite sure how to handle this, because we only have communion service once a month, and the unwrapped matzos will spoil in that time. I've occasionally discarded the elements (not without misgivings), but I've been wondering if there is a better way.
Just curious. Why wouldn't you re-use it?
We also use grape juice, but since I took over we only use pure kosher grape juice, not that abominable Welch's sugar water. How I wish we used wine! It doesn't keep well, either.
