Parish mission statements always trigger my heresy radar.
Not that heresy MUST flow from such a parish, but simply that it normally does flow such a parish.
If the mission of a parish is unclear to parishioners, then the pastor is incompetent.
If the mission is not provision of the sacraments and furthering of the gospel, then the pastor is incompetent.

That about sums it up. Parish mission statements are one of my pet peeves.
I agree with you both on that. The time these parish committees spend on reinventing the wheel is pretty amazing since Christ established a visible Church,gave the keys to Peter and told Peter to follow Him. He then told Peter and the apostles,before He ascended to heaven, to "baptize all nations and teach them what I have commanded you". Seems pretty clear to me.
However,on another thread,I have asked a very traditiional person and a very progressive person to tell me what their "vision" of Church is which may sound as silly as a "mission" statement,but I have my reasons. Neither has responded,maybe my "trap" is too obvious,but I will wait.
That pic looks like somthing else at first glance. I found out about this parish on various message boards, and St Joans is now known nationally mainly because of its web site that records all of its violations for all to see, though no doubt there are more than a few parishes like this.
Again, can anyone deny that this parish is in material schism?

Sorry to be so crude, but, at first, I thought that was a picture of feces. (sigh) Should be very exciting to gay guys. Perhaps it has come to the point where the whole lavender liberal modernist Amchurch has to be called into line or excommunicated.

That is true,and you can say that again and again,but people choose not to hear,it seems for one of two reasons. The first group,progressives,don't want any Pope at all,so they only hear him if it suits their agenda,eg altar girls.
The second group on the other end of the spectrum,don't mind the concept of Pope;however,the person in the Chair must be perfect,as they define perfection. The only time they take notice is when he does something that they can ridicule.
I recall hearing this particular bishop talking about the sexual abuse scandal two years ago. The cardinals had met with the Pope.the Pope said:"This abuse is a sin and a crime". This bishop Flynn,who I believe was on the bishops'abuse panel,spoke on nation wide t.v. and acted like the Pope said something to the effect of "don't bother me with this trivial problem".
When a lay person (me) knew what the Pope said,what he meant and what he wanted done and an archbishop was able to twist it to avoid saying anything intelligent,holy,honest or helpful,even the dimmest can see the Church has a problem with some bishops. Many bishops in the USCCB who are in leadership positions are ignorant,and/or stupid,and/or hypocritical,and/or dishonest and/or evil or some combination thereof.

I agree, we in America must start to petition the Pope and the Vatican officials with our concerns.
If you raised chickens and a third of them died of a fatal disease you would soon start an nvestigation. If you found the disease was transmitted to other chickens in vitro as well as adult contact,would you just toss out all of the chickens and eggs in the coop? What about the ones that were/are healthy and would remain that way,out they go too?
And if you did decide to pitch the well and the sick out,who would you replace them with given that the disease was pretty widespread throughout all the chicken coops built at a certain time in a certain country.
Just keep the heat on the bad ones so that their time in power is never pleasant or comfortable. Shine the light of truth on their sordid,dusky little secrets. Many of them do not belleve in heaven or hell but they all fear exposure,ridicule and contempt while here on earth.
And all the while pray,it is the only sure way.

It never hurts to c.c. two or three other prelates. There are four on your list that I would trust with my life but one can never be sure that their staffs are as trustworthy as they are. Additionallly,most problems leak into other areas so it can be very helpful as well as a courtesy.
