Yup.

All the other lingo is crapola, to use the latin term.

That about sums it up. Parish mission statements are one of my pet peeves.

Parish mission statements are one of my pet peeves.

I agree with you both on that. The time these parish committees spend on reinventing the wheel is pretty amazing since Christ established a visible Church,gave the keys to Peter and told Peter to follow Him. He then told Peter and the apostles,before He ascended to heaven, to "baptize all nations and teach them what I have commanded you". Seems pretty clear to me.

However,on another thread,I have asked a very traditiional person and a very progressive person to tell me what their "vision" of Church is which may sound as silly as a "mission" statement,but I have my reasons. Neither has responded,maybe my "trap" is too obvious,but I will wait.
