Here is a link to a very disappointing article: Arizona Bishops won't link politics, Communion
This would have been an excerpted thread post however any post now involving the AZ Republic is rejected due to a copyright complaint. This seems to be the best thread to post this item to since it does relate to Olmsted's "stamp" on the Diocese of Phoenix.

The Bishop and the Diocese of Phoenix can be reached:
By Phone: 602-257-0030, By Fax: 602-354-2427, By e-mail

By mail: Diocese of Phoenix, 400 East Monroe Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85004-2336

Your comments will be most appreciated.

I am surprised. He was doing so well. Maybe there is more to this story?

It may be the case that he has not had time to discuss this personally with the politicians first.

Remember, Bp. Burke warned the politicians privately first.

He is wise and holy and much more in tune with God's timing and plan than I am. I'll do what every Catholic in the Phoenix diocese should do and that is continue to pray for our Bishop.

I forgot to add that a big part of my prayers include thanking God for sending us Bishop Olmsted.

"The most important thing is to encounter the living Jesus Christ and to let Him lead us along the paths of conversion, communion and solidarity," Olmsted wrote.
What that could mean in terms of practical, day-to-day issues has church liberals concerned.

Heh! As well it should!

He's probably trying to do things in their proper order. He just got here and has plenty on his plate just dealing with the priests of the diocese.
