You and I agree. That is why I continue to counter those who continually spout the Joe Nickell line of completely outdated "factoids" and why I maintain the Shroud of Turin Ping list.

So many people claim to be of a "scientific mind" yet have theirs completely closed... and in fact have latched onto one of the scientists like McCrone who have completely misrepresented what they have found and ignoring EVERYTHING else. Scientific dogma is worse than any Religious dogma around because the practitioners claim to be open-minded.

Reuters is now carrying the story. Of course they mention the carbon 14 testing and ignore the findings that dispute it. I guess they don't read National Geographic. But the main point of the story is the challenge the second face poses to skeptics and debunkers. Overall a plus.

Expect another explosion of data soon when Rogers' peer-reviewed article appears (so as not to suggest that I am stating anything out of school, National Geographic has announced it).
