Reuters is now carrying the story. Of course they mention the carbon 14 testing and ignore the findings that dispute it. I guess they don't read National Geographic. But the main point of the story is the challenge the second face poses to skeptics and debunkers. Overall a plus.
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=scienceNews&storyID=4835816§ion=news Expect another explosion of data soon when Rogers' peer-reviewed article appears (so as not to suggest that I am stating anything out of school, National Geographic has announced it).
Of course they mention the carbon 14 testing and ignore the findings that dispute it. Good Grief. The final sentence of the article resurrects the stupid theory that Leonardo Da Vinci painted it and put his own face on it... and, of course, they don't bother pointing out the chronological impossibility of this "theory!"
