Did you read the article? The author is not of the "left".
I thought he made a very reasoned analysis. It wasn't some hysterical diatribe a la Foxman.
However, I don't happen to agree with the author's analysis here.

I thought he made a very reasoned analysis Completely justified, and completely wrong. That's the beauty of reasoned analyses....

No, I'm sorry, I don't think it qualifies as "reasoned analysis". Why? Because of the statement that it is comparable to "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" in gore. I saw the movie, and that's just absolutely absurd. I can't see someone with an unbiased perspective coming to that conclusion.

Did you read the article? The author is not of the "left". Certainly not. Michael Jackson has many supporters on the right. (/sarcasm)

He forgot all about loser numero uno - The Hollywood anti-Christian elite!
They certainly have become the biggest losers of all due to the overwhelming popularity of "The Passion".
I certainly hope Mel uses the money earned from "The Passion" to continue his spiritual, artistic vision and makes many, many more movies outside of the Hollywood system...

Hint --- The Jews don't like the New Testament period (non any movie that attempts to depict it)

Mel Gibson, who emerges as a talented fanatic at best and a full-blown loon at worst. Hardly what I'd call "reasoned analysis". Sounds like Boteach is getting overly emotional.
Also, see #32. Doesn't add much to his credibility...

I thought he made a very reasoned analysis. It wasn't some hysterical diatribe a la Foxman. I agree he wasn't hysterical but he wasn't reasoned either.
"Even in the New Testament, the passion of Christ occupies at most a chapter or two in each of the gospels, while the life of Jesus is spelled out more than 10 times that number."
"Gibson tells us that what made Jesus special was not that he lived righteously but that he died bloodily."
This is the most ridiculous argument about the film that I hear from so many friends who have seen the movie.
This movie was about The Passion, not a guide to His teaching.
And the fact is, that Christians believe Christ died for their sins and he was not murdered by the Jews, but gave His life
Apparently there are some folks on this planet that think the Crucifix is some sort of prop. I know that when I was growing up, I shuddered every time I ever saw the cruelty and wonder to this day why people wear the Crucifix instead of just the cross...they are stronger folks than I...to be reminded every day just how much one man suffered for their sins...I can't carry that kind of guilt.

Did you read the article? The author is not of the "left". He says he's not of the left. Not enough evidence in that statement to be conclusive. Other evidence in the article tends to disprove the statement.
