The more of the Journey Home Shows I listen to, the more I am convince becoming Catholic is the right thing for me to do. Before I became interested in this, I would NEVER have listened to a religious service on the radio, let alone expend the effort to download or listen to them on the internet.
Now I can't seem to listen enough. I am so thankful for this source of inspiration. I'm listening to Noah Lett's story as I type this...mercy!
Peace:)

Stickman, I don't know where you are in your journey, but as a stranger who cares, I ask you to please be sure your giving your life to Jesus Christ and not just choosing a religion.
Have you taken the time to read the New Testament and carefully consider the cost of following Jesus? He is very clear about both the obligations and the blessings of becoming his follower. He is not shy about telling us the need to repent, turn from all known sins and begin a life of faith in him and service for him.
It is a dangerous thing to put your faith in an institution. That is why Jesus left us a record of his teaching - so we can put our faith in his words.
I'm not trying to tell you not to become a Catholic. But you can become a religious person (protestant or catholic)without every really coming to know Jesus.
He warns us of this possibility in Matthew 7 when he says...
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'
Build your house on the rock
"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it."

EWTN is truly a blessing, isn't it?

Wonderful! I think you’ll be very happy when you’re home again. As you have probably gathered from reading FR, it can be difficult. The evil and stupidity of men is as present in the Catholic Church as it is anywhere else. But you just have to keep your eyes fixed on the Truth, know that the Church is the best place to find it, and all will be well.

Oh, Stickman, you are on the right road. Journey Home was one of the ways the Lord drew us to the CC two years ago. Even when we were in RCIA, we would rush home Monday evenings just in time to watch it. The Lord definitely works through EWTN. Follow His leading, you will not regret it. We surely have not.
