Thats the problem, you are not stating facts. You come on here, on Christmas day, or any other day, spouting things off that are intentionally not true.

If you really want to know about Mormons just ask. It doesn't mean you have to convert.

If you come in here accusing and calling people cultists, that is simply wrong.

It doesn't matter what church someone goes to. Have a little dignity even if you don't agree.

I have been a student of Zen since my late teens. I am now 36.

Do you feel better or worst if your religion has the largest percentage? What does that mean?

No, and it means absolutely nothing.

If your religion has the highest percentage of voters, does that mean you're religion is winning? Explain

No, and there can be no winning.

Does a higher percentage make your religion more valuable? More acceptable? More valid in God's eyes?

Blue, 35 and turnips.

What are your thoughts?

I could tell you, but it would have to be exclusively in Klingon.

Good for you! "Being," or "believing" any particular (fill in the blank) and being a "true" whatever, (choose from a long list, including "conservative" does not prevent anyone from being genuinely disgusting!!!

Ok, I appreciate your response. See now you have defined what you believe and that is what we are looking for...We can look at God's word about what you and I think. First let me say this: There is documentation of the life and actions of Joseph Smith. And one of those documents is that Mr. Smith commited pejury in a court of law about what he did and said.

God the Father and Jesus are not the same person. No we don't believe in the Trinity. The Holy Ghost is the messenger of the Father to men.

Then was Jesus lying when he claimed to be God and the jewish religious leaders tried to stone him?

Of course I know you're female and I had assumed you were hetro ... that's not what I meant ... So ... have you stopped beating your wife is the same kind of question you asked me about Mormans ... For the record I am no longer Morman ... or any other organized religion. What I am is my business and no one elses ... and questions like yours is exactly why

Thanks for clarifying. For the record, I would say the same thing to a Unitarian who claimed Christianity for many of the same reasons (although UU folks are more inclined to save spotted owls and engage in (gag) uber liberal causes).

FYI I am decended from J.Smith on one side and B.Young on the other. Your so called "christians" performed the very "christian" act of killing three of my ancestors at the temple at Navue ... so you can take your particular "christian" cult and ... well it's CHRISTMAS so I won't say it

" notice there is no option for Zoroastrian. I am offended!"

If there were, would that light your fire?

Would he, could he, in a Mazda?

If you come in here accusing and calling people cultists, that is simply wrong.

Not if they are cultist! How can that be wrong? Mormons are good God fearing people who are just as sincere about Christ as any Christians. In my experience most of them do not even know their own church history or the history of scripture. Joseph Smith proved himself to be a liar. There is enough documentation out there to show this.

Do you want to see some?

There is documentation of the life and actions of Joseph Smith. And one of those documents is that Mr. Smith commited pejury in a court of law about what he did and said.

I am not a historian, but from what I know there is documentation either way.

There is plenty of "documentation" from the DNC regarding President Bush too.

Again, its not just about Joseph Smith. He was a person with just as many faults as any of us. If you are trying to make out like Joseph was perfect I will be arguing the other side of that one.

You are trying to make out like Joseph Smiths own personal perfection has anything to do with the beliefs of Mormons.

I am not supposed to shop on Sunday, but sometimes I have done so in the past. That doesn't say anything about the religion itself though.

As for committing perjury, I don't think so.

Then was Jesus lying when he claimed to be God and the jewish religious leaders tried to stone him?

Jesus didn't lie to anyone. Give a reference though please so I can see what exactly you are referring to.

As I said above, Jesus Christ quite literally created everything on this planet including the planet itself.

Was Jesus lying when He said, (quote) "for my Father is greater than I". (John 14:28)

Or what about "My Father which gave them me is greater than all..." (John 10:11)

When Jesus says "I and my Father are one" we take that literally in some ways but not literally in others.

They are one in purpose, spirit, thought, and goodness.

They are not literally one being together.

Since God doesn't require any more from anyone, why should you? Everyone has wrong or flakey ideas about God. Ultimately, ALL our ideas on Who God is fall far, far short of the Reality of God. But God doesn't care that our ideas about Him are wrong. God cares what is in our hearts, not what is in our heads.

I can find plenty of documentation on DU regarding politics. No, I don't care to see any.

"Cultist" is a subjective judgement. At the same time it is an insult.

You cannot prove a subjective personal judgement as fact. You are trying to evangelize your own views and little more. It has nothing to do with "facts".

Why won't you say it? I'm not the one you have to worry about offending...and you know for a fact they were Christians and performing a Christian act because....., so therefore you hate Christians?

I could call myself Santa Claus and give children presents in your name, but it doesn't mean I represent your precepts now does it?

God cares what is in our hearts, not what is in our heads.

BUMP.

He cares whats in our heads, but our hearts are more important.

If one is humble and teachable, God can mold them like playdoh. He can and will teach them and does so over time. No one has a perfect knowlege.

Trying to go the other way around, head first doesn't always work.

Look if you believe J Smith was a prophet of God then let it be. It's your choice as it should be, but don't sit there and be offended when there's plenty of documention backing up the facts that the guy was a con artist and a fraud!

DU can provide plenty of documentation that GW Bush knew in advance of 9-11 and let it happen. They can provide documentation that Cheney is a crook.

They can provide documentation of anything you want said.

Its the exact same thing regarding Joseph Smith.

There is much more to things that though.

Joseph Smith was killed 150 years ago. What did he leave and what has come of it?
