The list goes on and on........"

Im confused by your response to the above questions...this post does not seem like a slam to me.

As a former protestent these were many of the issues that baffled me. Noone here can deny that these difference do exists between different denominations and cause confusion for those searching.

I for one would like to see each person on this thread answer the above questions. It might be good for discussion and clarify some questions we all might have about one another.

Okay, back to lurking;)

Blessings,
O'Malley

Sure it was.

The RCs here on a continual basis slam Protestants for many things. They claim that there are thousands of different denominations, and that list is supposed to show how those denominations are divided. Contrast that to the one true unified rc church where everyone believes the same and they are the ones who are the true church.

There is the slam. Or the attempted slam.

Follow the context.

Well, I would take a stab at it(as OJ said about remarriage)but the Catholics and I do not see eye to eye on scripture. You see, I use scripture to define my position, to base my claims and when I do, I am called a pope, that I am not able to teach, that I am only interpretting and have no authority to do so. Therefore, I do not debate with Catholics any more.

Good post.

If you could bookmark it, and wait for me a little while (I post very little at present, as I am waiting on my new computer and the restoration of my DSL), I should like to respond.

I would like to engage the subject... just not at 14.4k (the best that my allegedly 56k dial-up modem back-up can accomplish anymore; I think that the coal-fired boiler is nearly out of steam).

This is an interesting list. I'll be interested to see OP's response (if his ISP will allow it.) Here's my humble opinion.

Though I would agree there is some confusion among Protestant denominations, it's been my experience that the denominations/groups that agree on the major articles of Christian faith (e.g. fallen nature of man, divinity of Jesus, atonement/redemption in Jesus, necessity of repentance, inerrancy of scripture) usually consider the remaining issues - typically ones that are genuinely subject to interpretation - to be secondary. (For example, being a premillenialist who thinks women can be pastors doesn't damn one's soul to hell.) Additionally I'd say the denominations/groups that agree on those articles tend to agree on matters like abortion, homosexuality, and euthanasia.
