That is not the half of what they are spewing! My god they have such vile mouths! They hate him so much and hope that we will abandon him. They are deliriously happy that they won't have to hear him for 30 days. WHO TOLD THEM TO LISTEN? Well I have news for them. We won't abandon Rush! We will be right here waiting for him!

My pastor went through detox 3 times and was given up for dead by his doctors. That was 10 years ago, he is totally clean. So with the right attitude, help, and God's grace, you can find healing.
I hope and pray Rush looks back at this many years from now and says it was one of the best things that ever happened to him, because it forced him to truly face a problem that would eventually have killed him.
And I am going to miss him while he is gone, because despite his problems, there is only one Rush.

God Bless You Rush.. You have my prayers my friend.. Thanks for being you .. I love you ...Megadittos and prayers, for a great friend with balls and class to spare.

What an intelligent man!!!!
He asked for prayers!
It's a done deal, Rush, you sought a power higher than yourself and humbled yourself to it. YOU WILL OVERCOME!

He's going to struggle with this all his life.We all have our Achilles' Heel; even Superman has his Kryptonite.
I'm sure he'll beat this and come back, better than ever. Unfortunately, there are those here who are upset with him, since he doesn't walk on water.

And the point has been made that it's likely that the stigma and criminal punishment of drug abuse kept Rush from getting effective treatment. Bill Buckley has changed his mind on the WOD.

Sean Hannity: "You just heard the announcement towards the end of his program today...Rush just as he was ending talked about some of the issues that were in the paper about him in recent days and has admitted that he is addicted to prescription pain medication and is going to enter a treatment center."
"I've known about some of his pain problems and the surgical issue he dealt with about his lower back and that it was an unsuccessful surgery, and as a result of that he had ongoing chronic pain issues. That I knew as a friend of his. I knew he had herniated disc problems and a whole series of medical issues and setbacks over really the last decade. I know the Rush critics out there that want to see any conservatives fall on their face crowd will probably enjoy...real true liberal compassion will show its true colors...This is not the first time I've known somebody this has happened to in my life and the only thing I can say is...[Sean's success] would not have happened if Rush had not embraced me..."

I thought Kerry's joke was pretty funny. If somebody said it about Tipper Gore or Cindy McCain, everybody here would have been cracking up. Whether or not it was "presidential" is another story. Yep, if you dish it out you better be able to take it. Rush will kick this stuff and he'll be just fine.

Attitude is a lot of it. What the pro-drug crowd hates to admit is that drugs are soul destroying, motivation destroying agents.
They destroy one's free will. And they want these things around even more! Incredible!!

I can validate your feelings of being let down. Knowing (or living with) someone who is a drug addict is very disappointing. It's a sad day for me too. It is extremely difficult to come off pills, but it can be done. Lots of people can't beat it but lots of people have.
To: Cathryn Crawford
Are you saying the source of Rush's pills is off-point?

God helps those that help themselves....and it takes a bigger man to admit to faults than it ever could to LIE about them.........Rush, may your faith, family, friends and your own strength get you through this now.
I'll ALWAYS admire the guy.....I am a "hugh" fan!!!!

Just tell them that Rush was being honest when he said "half my brain tied behind my back, just to make it fair". And he still wooped them;-)
