I don't believe any of this. I believe there might be resentment in the area over special treatment of the mentally impaired, but I doubt anyone would come after them because of it.
On the other hand, if someone was screwing around with my Lexus I'd have a problem. The kids probably just made up the rest. It's not like they have a proper perspective on society to begin with, so what's to stop them.
Let's face the facts here. Homosexuality is a mental disorder on par with any other mentally debilitating condition. Anything that would cause an organism to voluntarily filter itself out of the gene pool can be recognized as such.

But ... but ... but ... gays can't be violent. I mean, liberals are by definition intelligent, sensitive, consensus-building, and non-violent. Gays are liberal, so
ipso facto they are non-violent. So, this crime is clearly the result of the right-wing, fascist, pro-Schwarzenegger conspiracy from within the Republican party. Those weren't gay children, they were actually suburban Christians who posed as gays and deliberately acted violent after creating a provocation for the sole purpose of defacing the good name of gay children everywhere.
Yeah, right. [/sarcasm]

The school is very visible, so it's not unreasonable to assume that the school could be a target, or that the students could be targets," Tucker said. "That's the reason the school exists in the first place - to give the students some comfort." Nothing contradictory about those statements, is there? Let's just make the students more comfortable by putting them all in one place so they'll be a huge target for haters.

A handful of gay teens from Harvey Milk High School lounged around a Lexus parked by a Starbucks in Greenwich Village on Tuesday. Something very weird here. I can see lounging around a parking lot or an empty car. But one with a driver still in it?
Sounds like they went looking for trouble. A bunch of teens gathers around my car and I am going to perceive it as a threatening situation.
I am also not going to get out of the car with a screwdriver, I am going to put the car in gear and (with or without speed bumps) I am out of there. But then I am not a 23-year-old male and have no illusions about how tough I am.

"That's the reason the school exists in the first place - to give the students some comfort." Damn straight! Er, I mean, that's right! It's not like schools should exist to provide an education, they're just there to give comfort to mentally disturbed, self-deluded cross-dressing urban yoots.

"We are absolutely investigating whether it is a hate crime," said Barbara Thompson, a district attorney spokeswoman."
Okay, so this is a hate crime (even though the students started it), but when a white guy is beaten up by a bunch of black guys who drag him off a city bus, that's not a hate crime.
But that's not a double standard or anything.

Leomi M., 16, a transgender Harvey Milk student Any doctor who would perform transgender surgery on a 16 year old should be taken out and shot. Period.

Gotta love those absolute investigations. This article would make a wonderful study in linguistics. I can see it now, "The Politics of Homosexual Equiture in Modern Journalism and the Post-Modern Enthememe - 101". Should be good for at least four credit hours.

...Leomi, who wore a wig, makeup and women's clothing. Unless the author meant to say "transvestite" which is entirely different.
Or does 'transvestite' carry some sort of stigma with it? Is it un-PC to say transvestite? Does it carry some sort of negative conotation? Perhaps 'transgender' allows the sickos to pretend that they have some sort of 'syndrome'.
