Rush is toast.
I don't know which will be harder for him--the drug rehab, or rehabilitating his reputation and career.

Where are the audiotapes? Where is the additional evidence the Enquirer promised it had?
If there is no new info in this week's edition, I think they're blowing smoke.

It would seem much is being made about very little ...

Rush is Toast? Big deal about this story. I listen to Rush. Rush doesn't sound like he has a drug problem. His thoughts are pretty clear. And if he does have a pain killer problem, that's his business. Maybe he's in pain. Anyway, he's not in an occupation which requires him to be drug free. He's not flying a plane or performing surgery. He's talking and whatever he puts in his body is ok by me because his oratorio is perfect.

Rush is toast.
Do you even have a clue to what reality is? There is not one bit of evidence that any of the drug dealers allegations has merit. Rush has shown no signs of being an oxycontin junkie, hasn't missed enough time out of public to have been through detox twice. Not to mention that he could have gotten the stuff legally through a doctor with no problem. Rush was the victim of a severly botched extortion attempt

Okay, you gotta' do the "clinton" and parse his words. He said "If we're wrong Rush can own us" or something like that. Some drug dealing house cleaner TOLD the Nat. Enq. that Rush did this and that. So, the Nat. Enq. isn't wrong.

no signs of his career going away anytime soon.....unless he is actually charged.
the accusations might actually ENHANCE his standing among the right.

Just because the Enquirer said it doesn't make it so.

Rush isn't toast - he's just a well meaning druggie.
As long as his power base doesn't turn on him he will live happily ever after.
It's good he's going to have to kick his drug habit though - he will sound more lucid and rational.

Rush is not toast. He did come clean, and this is something that could happen to almost anyone. Pain is something very hard to deal with day in and day out, and many doctors and others won't help the patient, although they can.
