Disney joins forces with pro-fish activists [PETA] *PICS

Pro-fish activists have won permission from Disney to adapt a film poster for Finding Nemo to help promote vegetarianism to youngsters.

Pressure group Peta says it is using the cartoon characters on leaflets, along with a two-metre tall fish, to persuade children not to eat fish.

The film features a shark who attends a support group for vegetarians which uses the Peta slogan prominently.

A spokesman for Peta (People of the Ethical Treatment of Animals) said: "We were delighted to see our tag-line 'Fish are friends not food' in the Finding Nemo movie.

"The slogan is even being used on Finding Nemo pyjamas."

"We hope that after seeing Finding Nemo, children will agree that fish belong in the ocean, not on dinner plates."

Something about that clown fish's grin reminds me of Woody Allen, or Alan Alda, or someone annoying like that... Not sure who... In fact, I found almost the entire movie incredibly annoying.

There's a place of all of God's creatures. . . right next to the mashed potatos.

Or

If God didn't want us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them so darn tasty!

Best Regards

I don't get this story in view of the fact that bass fishing tournaments (Bassmasters)are held on Disney World property.

I love fish, too. Salmon is my favorite. Blackened with a ginger-pineapple glaze... mmmm.

Think fo the impact this could have on fraternities across America. What if they are no longer comfortable swallowing live goldfish? Of course, we could stage a mock rally and 'free' thousands of Nemo-esque fish into an oceanic tributary and watch in horror as they die a painful death in the saltwater ... since, as they say, fish belong in the ocean.
