A pack of ponies in Davis's defeat

Yessss. Somewhere in the recall election that hoisted Arnold Schwarzenegger by his own nerve and narcissism into the governor's office, there's got to be a pony. Somewhere in a campaign that gave a serial groper a pass for being "playful" there's gotta be a pack of ponies.

Ellen Goodman's rants sound indecipherable even on her best days. I can't make heads or tails out of this one.

"Exit polls show that 51 percent of the voters said issues were the most important reason for their vote, and 67 percent said Arnold avoided the issues. Explain how he won in 500 words or less."

OK. Arnold DIDN'T embrace the policies that got us into this s#%t hole.

Huh? Is she talking about 1992? 1996? Probably not. Gee, wasn't this George Stephenopolus and James Carville's reason to have the "War Room" in the first place? Democrats/Big Media = Hypocrites!

Pony Nine: William Jefferson who? Here's to all those talk show hosts who declared feminism was dead when the leaders didn't want to impeach Bill for consensual sleaziness?

Perjury, Ellen. Lying under oath, Ellen. Not telling a grand jury the truth, Ellen....

Hey, call me Ms. Optimism. But if you're in need of another pony, I think I see another one just over the horizon. It's called Recall II, the Sequel.

Who's going to vote to recall Ahnold? The folks who voted to keep Gray Doofus in office? Sorry, dummy, they didn't have the votes on Tuesday. What makes you think anti-Ahnold votes are going to suddenly materialize?

Loser.....

Hmmmm, I'm trying to recall Ms. Goodman ever calling fellow Rat Bill Clinton a serial groper (which he was at the very least), but I can't seem to do so.

He's a one trick pony
One trick is all that hoss can do
He does one trick on-ly
It's the principle source of his revenue
But when he steps into the spotlight
you can see the heat of his heart come risin' through.

He makes it look so easy
look so clean
He moves like God's immaculate machine
He makes me think about all these extra moves I make
and all this herky jerky motion
and the bag of tricks it takes
to get me through my workin' day.... one trick pony!

...Ellen, might I suggest YOU go in to a Federal building, and try to perform sexual acts. How about the post offfice in
your home town? Claim that its only about sex when you're led away in silver bracelets.

I guess you could also claim freedom of the press, but it didn't do the two DJ's any good when they conspired to
have a couple do it in St. Patty's in NYC. Look where it got the guy - heart attack.

Hey, call me Ms. Optimism.

I used to read Ms. Goodman's work back before I swore off Democrat rags forever; she was, is and will be anything but an optimist. She is a socialist and a journalist, and therefore unable to be optimistic as long as one human being still has the freedom to say "no" to whatever she thinks is best.

I am, however, OK with calling her Ms. Opportunist. She shows quite clearly that she is willing to make urine out of a lemon if she gets the chance.

Goodman's sneering contempt for anything and anybody not in her leftist milleu (including Arnold, the California electorate, the American voting process, etc. etc.) is palpable.

Her diatribe is that of an aging NAG, trying to be "with it", but ending up just too cutesy and strained.

One of the dying gasps of northeast Marxist intellectual elitism.

We are now forever freed from feeling inferior to our European counterparts. On the morning after the election the Austrian tourism bureau proclaimed that Arnold is now the most famous Austrian, having replaced that has-been hack, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Gee, and all this time I thought it was Adolf Schickelgrueber Hitler. As for feeling inferior to Europeans, speak for yourself, girl. Ever had Euro-bar-b-que? Watched a Euro-tv show? Used a European operating system? (Current choices are: Windows XP, OS X and Chirac big fat zero.) Do European Aircraft carriers ever leave the pier? They don't have many and the ones they do have are mostly for show.

Admittedly, the Euros did give us Communism (100,000,000 murdered and counting), Nazism (+40,000,000, account temporially suspended - but hey, they did march nice and had spiffy uniforms), "The middle way", Swedish nanny statism. What's a Bill of Rights and the oldest constitutional government on the Earth in comparison to these achievements? (A government older than the total of all members of the EU - Britian excluded - combined.) And if we hadn't interferred in their World Wars and fought the Cold War, their impressive achievements (+140,000,000 murdered) might have been even more stunning. We haven't even included the talley for their rapine 19th Century colonialism in Africa. Tiny Belgium alone under good king Leopold probably killed more People of Color in the Congo than Rumsfeld has ever aspired to kill worldwide.

You go, girl, anywhere you please, only go.

While she tries to make herself out as being "optimistic" in this piece, there is a deep undercurrent of bitterness and condescension that reveals her true feelings. She, of course, fails to note the real ponies in this situation: GoveRnoR ARnold will do his best (which is pretty damn good!) to take care of the mess that the children created, and Bill and Hillary are no longer creating s#*t for the rest of us to clean up. My prediction is that Hillary now has to seriously consider putting off her plans to run in 2004 because California is no longer secure for the Dems.
