Couric Raises Spectre of Republican Plot, Racial Motivation in Bugging of Philly Mayor
The Today Show

Posted on 10/09/2003 4:32:28 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Katie Couric of The Today Show just completed a segment on the news that an FBI bug had been discovered in the office of Dem Philadelphia Mayor John Street.

Street's administration has been rocked by scandals, including accusations that it fixed parking tickets for allies and awarded a $13.6 million contract to a firm linked to the mayor's brother. An aide to Street has been charged with threatening a landlord who rented space to the campaign of his Republican opponent, Sam Katz.

A balanced approach would have included guests from both sides of the issue. But true to her style, Katie only invited in the Mayor himself.

Not only did Katie offer up the traditional softballs she reserves for Dem guests, she resorted to her favorite technique to push her own views under a very paltry guise of journalism.

Twice Couric cited her favorite source, the all-knowing: "some." Thus, stated Couric, "some" have suggested that the FBI's investigation was politicaly motivated, part of a Republican effort to bring down Street, who is involved in a bitter re-election campaign against Republican Sam Katz.

And later in the interview, Couric, always eager to throw gasoline on the flames of racial division, asserted that "some" have suggested that the investigation was racially motivated, against the African-American Street.

Of course Street was only-too-willing to buy into Katie's conspiracy theories, though he actually conducted himself with more dignity and less partisanship than Couric.

Of course, Street's more temperate attitude might well have been induced by his knowledge of the depth of the corruption in his office.

I think it's worthwhile to monitor The Today Show

I agree. Keep your friends close....but your enemies closer.

As long as ya don't hurl.

"Some" have noted that affable Eva-Braun act-alike Katie Couric is a lesbian who prefers underaged girls.

Anonymous sources have confirmed.

Most common pseudonyms used by Katie Couric, Peter Jennings et al when speaking for themelves:

some say that...

there are those who maintain that...

critics state that...

Uh-oh. Now you're going to set off a string of colonoscopy references!

Yeah, well, how appropriate was it that Katie showed her ass?

Thanks for the briefing on another Democratic Crime Syndicate member and their perky propagandist. Mayor Street is a cul-de-sac on Couric's dirt road.

You do us a great service with your Today Show summaries. These save the rest of us exposure to this crap while letting us know what the enemy is up to.

I assure you that when your brain finally rots from too much viewing of the perky one I will make certain that the world knows of your unselfish sacrifice and that some sort of a commemoration will be made in your memory.

There are Moslems involved in this: FBI agents raid business, home of Street friend. I suspect it's a homeland security investigation.

I wonder who tipped off the mayor about the bug.

Clinton went to Philly for 11 payoffs by the DNC and the Unions. Katie needs to shut up.

when speaking for themelves:

Exactly. I don't for a second believe that some, those or critics exist at all, apart from the talking heads themselves.

It is a not so clever device for the interviewer to interject his own bias, under the guise of presenting the opinion of an unnamed groundswell.

Hopefully, the sheeple are waking up to this.

We saw part of the interview. The interview was poorly done and she relied on the usual questions that inflame people. This is not racism. It is a corruption issue. The searches of Mayor Streets Muslim community advisor could send this thing in a different direction. Could this Muslim advisor be duping everyone and sending money to the middle east? This FBI office owes both candidates
and the voters the reasons behind this probe.

The entirety of NBC, from Katie in the Morning to the Katie wannabes on MSNBC 24/7, to that dreadful Andria Mitchell, and Tim Russert, shill for the left wing view.

As to the bug in Street's office, a judge had to look at the evidence of probable cause and approve the tap. Those things are not done lightly, particularly where p[oliticians are involved.

Yes, Katie, politicians actually go to jail in this country. You have heard of Dan Rostenkowski, or perhaps Edwin Edwards?
