With Davis dumped, it's time to dump McClellan (Bush's press guy)

Now that the conservative movement has succeeded in recalling Grayout Davis from office. I think it's time that we pressure the Bush Administration to remove Scott McClellan, who succeeded Ari Fleischer as press secretary.
I don't know about his politics but McClellan is a real drag on the president because he doesn't know how to handle the media very well and is a rather poor speaker. He's also been totally ineffective at keeping down media stories that Fleischer was able to manage. In fact, during the entire time that Ari was there, Bush had no major media explosions. But since he left, the media has been able to spin so successfully that Bush's numbers are now lower than they were BEFORE 9/11.
The Enron story, if you remember, was almost under control when Fleischer left but then McClellan came in and that was the start of the non-stop Bush bashing. Scott has also completely screwed up the WH strategery regarding the Plame story as well as the Kay Report. It takes him too long to come up with an effective strategy.
McClellan may be a nice guy but he doesn't understand how the media world works. It's time for the White House to rely on first-string players instead of a benchwarmer like McClellan.

I agree with you.
But, he's the son of Carole Keeton Strayhorn, current Comptroller of the State of Texas. Bush worked with her, and he is very loyal to his friends.
But, you're right. McClellan has the "deer in the headlights" look more often than not.

Bush's numbers are now lower than they were BEFORE 9/11Still way higher than Carters or Clintons ever were.

I agree.
White House media control has been lamentable since Ari Fleischer left.
Pay him the big bucks and get him back.
Bring back Karen Hughes, too. It's campaign time.

AGREE! Fleischer was brilliant. This guy looks afraid of the media.

I definitely agree. His performance has been lame, at best.
He has some big shoes to fill, in my book. I really liked Fleischer, (probably blew the spelling on his name) who had an excellent sense of humor and handled the lib reporters with great skill.

Let's send money in an escrow account that's theirs as soon as they acknowledge there's a problem with McClellan.

I haven't seen much of McClellan, and what I've seen hasn't impressed me much, but I never cared for Fleischer, either.

How do we get our voice heard on this?? Email (or write or call) the Pres/Veep at whitehouse.gov. Email Bush/Cheney '04.

The inability of Repubs to counter the media lies goes far beyond Scott M.
To: sinkspur
His father wrote a book explaining how Lyndon Baines Johnson was behind the assassination of Jack Kennedy so he can't be all bad.

Conservatives may have started the recall but the conservatives didn't get one elected. Just because the Gropinator calls himself a Republican, even though he's ashamed of being one, doesn't mean he's a conservative.

This guy is handling the "leak story/scandal" too bad. He needs to joke around like Rumsfeld does.
To: Ann Archy
I totally agree. Get rid of him before it's too late.
Doesn't any body in the administration sense that there
is a problem here? Good grief!
