Thanks Bernard, I can't believe these folks are still getting funding out of our congress to fight the will of the people

Time to write our representatives again, if they dont agree, vote the bast#rds out! I'm sick of socialists and communists in this country causing havoc on MY tax dollar!

What is the ACLU talking about?

The "detainees" at Gitmo (sorry, doubt I can spell the whole thing) are unlawful combatants. They are not subject to the laws normally governing land warfare since they do not wear uniforms, and (or?) carry weapons openly. As unlawful combatants, they are in the same status (IMHO) as 19th century pirates, and (I believe) the US is within its international legal rights to shoot them out of hand.

By the way, isn't it odd that the ACLU has never (as far as I know) complained about terrorism? Does anyone know of a case when they did?

ACLU="American Civil Liberties Union"

Why, then, when I visited their site, were they screaming at Bush to help with anti-racism in South Africa? What the h*ll does South Africa have to do with the Civil Liberties of Americans?

The ACLU could make a wonderful contribution to the preservation of liberty if they a) released their heads from their sphincters, b) openly admitted that they were flaming liberals so as not to deceive the public, and c) gave as much attention to all persecuted groups--Christians included--as they do to minorities.

As director of that program, he channeled approximately $90 million in grants to civil-rights, human rights and peace projects in 2000, and launched groundbreaking initiatives in affirmative action, voting rights and redistricting, immigrants' rights, women's rights, reproductive freedom and lesbian/gay rights.

Maybe if they used that 90 million to fund orphanages and feed starving children, we wouldn't need welfare.

" a latter-day Politburo (( SAINTS - gods too ))" !

e-as ...

No. The ACLU says the First Amendment protects their right (( atheism )) to free speech, which the Second does not protect your right to keep and bear arms.

I was going to say they don't understand the concept that the militia is made up of the very people referenced in the text of the amendment. But they do get this, and very well. They simply know that when the people are completely disarmed, there is no impediment to the ... ACLU becoming --- a latter-day Politburo.

I'm telling you, gather weapons and ammo now while you still can.

In my opinion, the ACLU is decidedly unAmerican.

Who are they? They are the defenders of NAMBLA. They are the destroyers of Freedom of Religion as outlined in the 1st Amendment. They are legal positivists/moral relativist BAD LAWYERS. They are evil personified. They are the American Communist-Lunatics United. They are the ENEMY of every freedom-loving American. All they do is constantly look for judges who will rule for their whacko agenda. They should all be arrested for trying to destroy the good morals of society, and shipped off to North Korea where they can rub elbows with people of like mind.

I was taught that the ACLU was founded in 1930, principly by members of the American Socialist Party (ie; COMMUNISTS) with the expressed intent to throw a monkey wrench into the gears of our legal system.

I think we should start our OWN "Civil Liberties" group. (I would never call it a union.) Show 'em what conservative lawyers can do for our civil liberties with a genuine constitutional law foundation. Beat the ACLU at its own game and actually do some good. NOT another Judicial Watch thingy. We'd have to be...well...fair and balanced. :o)

Call the new one The Constitutional Civil Liberties Organization or something. The CCLO...hmmm...anyone like that?

The ACLU has obviously become one sided politically

I'm pretty sure they've always been one-sided politically. With very few actions to show otherwise. Roger Baldwin was a "progressive" and many other members in the beginning were full-blown communists.

I know this wasn't the question, but it's because this organization was founded by a true communist, and it's goal is to destroy the U.S.A. from within.

They're doing a d@mn good job of it too!

How about the fact that they all have gained 10 - 15 lbs. in 'captivity'. IMHO, these scum crumbs are being treated too well.

Sounds like it --- maybe it's all those ham sandwiches we've been feeding them.

I agree, I just meant that is obvious for all to see now.

The ACLU doesn't even try to look fair anymore

You're right. It's time we started our own tax free nonprofit charitable organizations. I'm sick about the ACLU not paying taxes... And PBS, and NPR and all the other free ride liberal organizations.

We the PEOPLE" need to throw these bastar#s out on their ears! They are not elected to speak for us - but for socialist liberals and terrorist lovers.

Do not donate money to any entity that supports the ACLU in any way. Stop them Now!

Do they receive funding from congress? That's not a rhetorical question. Truth is, I really don't know how they are funded.

But if our tax dollars are supporting this communist group, then we need to start a campaign of contacting our respresentatives and demand that their funding be eliminated.
