Is GOOGLE down? In my area if you try to use Google you get "There is no website configured at this address" from cPanel. I wonder if this is regional or maybe another hack attack?

Everything else on the net is fine here, I think it might be localized outside of our network.

Update and run your virus scam immediately. Get the Internet Explorer security patches. For more information, search (non-Google of course) on Qhosts, or Qhost Trojan.

Thank God for someone bringing this up. I was going to post something, but I thought I had a problem or a virus in my machine. I am not able to access Goggle and only the Yahoo home page. If I do a search, I get "Page Cannot Be Displayed" message. Help!!!

You guys have the Qhost virus. First, you need to download the newest MS patch, then you either have to manually eliminate your registry or use an anti-virus program. Manual takes about 5 minutes if you know what you're doing.

Google OK in Florida. Running Windows XP.

I should have said "manually eliminate the registry entries made by the virus", not your entire registry!

When Windows will be integrated in the BIOS will this prevent from using google from the start ?

No Virus, was updated yesterday with all and this started this morning. Last patch for this from MS was on OCT 3. Funny thing is now it's back after about an 1/2 hour outage. Makes me wonder what's up?

There are some things out there also that just create a hosts file with invalid IP addresses for all of the search engines and portal sites.
I would first make sure that if a hosts (or lmhosts depending on your OS) file exists in your windows(or winnt)\system32\drivers\etc directory. If so open it with notepad and see what is in it. If you see google in it delete at least that entry and either reboot or run nbtstat -R then try it again.
I hesitate to say just delete it, as there may be valid entries for work or personal reasons (most people would not need either of these files).

It works for me.

You have been "hosted". Check your hosts file C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC and open the Hosts file in "notepad". You will probably have over a hunderd entries enteried by either a script file other file. There is also a file you can download to clean the culprit from your PC.

Don't have that virus, thanks for the advice though. Was checking for all signs on two different PC's both acting the same way. One ran MS Updates (again) and checked Google was there. The other one no updates and Google was also back there. I can elimenate the virus idea. must have been some strange burp this morning.
