Back in the late 70s, when the first Cambodians were coming into CA from the killing fields, one of them got work in a doughnut shop down in Orange County. He opened his own shop somehow within a year, and did well. So word spread throughout the Cambodian community, and donghnut shops became their route to middle class success. Seems like half the doughnut shops around in SoCal are Cambodian family owned, and they're generally very meticulous about their product. Very fluffy and light, not greasy, and they taste fresh all day long.
