45,000 E-mails and Counting Thank You
October 6, 2003
2:08 PM ET BEGIN TRANSCRIPT Rush Limbaugh Radio Show
Let me again express a sentiment of pure love and appreciation for all of you. Since last week, when the ESPN brouhaha hit and the drug story hit, the number of e-mails is unbelievable to me. It's approaching the 45,000 mark now. I continue to be overawed by it.
And I just want to take some time here to acknowledge a vast majority of people's support. It is overwhelming. And I want you to know I'm getting it and I receive it. It moves me deeply and greatly. I appreciate it, as I have your support of this program all 15 years, more than I am able to express with words. And I just want you to know that. I never have said it enough, and I want to try to correct that from now on, but I said last Friday that we in this program, we have almost a familial type relationship that has evolved here, and I understand what that entails. And I understand the bond of loyalty that exists and what ties that loyalty together, and one of the things is trust. And I realize that that is shaken in a lot of you, but yet you maintain that you are full-fledged behind me. And I appreciate that, and you will have that support, I hope, validated. You will know that I have continued, and will do what I have to do to earn it, and never take it for granted.
Before we get any further with all this I just want you to know how I appreciate what you're all saying, how much I appreciate all that you've done over all these years and how desperately much I appreciate your expressions of support now. Believe me. I notice it and I'm taking none of it for granted. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

What did I just say? I'm not accusing him of any particular crime.. but he has done something that he would rather not get put out into public if doesn't have to. Meaning that maybe he is addicted to pain killers(and gets them legally). Who knows??? Perhaps instead of saying "he's done something" I should of said "he's embarassed about something."
We shall see.... but it's pass your bedtime. Should I read little red riding hood to you now?
To: Hot Tabasco
If you would of read my posts prior to that statement you would haven't to make me repeat myself. So I won't.. happy hunting.
To: Rocko
I sent him an email, as well...told him he was like a member of my family.
I told him we all loved him.
To: wimpycat
Well at least someone finally sees the light!

I also just emailed him. Among other things, I said that he does not "perform a service for all the sorry lives of the dittoheads out there" but that he provides a daily time of intellectual stimulation and entertainment on current topics for many intelligent, thinking people to look forward to.

You are so right Conservababe!
He is incredibly generous.
But no one will ever know that. If he can help it.

Rush deserves our support and has mine.
Ditto.

I know that Rush is in awe over the out pouring of support he has gotten.
Thanks Joyce. He will see your message!

Yaelle...you are so right....for years it was the ONLY place to find that intellectual stimulation and entertainment. Now we have other places but Rush got this big ball rolling, that is a fact!

I'm shocked about the drug story. Rush seems like the last person who could succumb to the moral weakness and lack of will-power that lead to drug addiction. I pray that the allegations are hollow, but he sure is acting like a guilty person so far. He has a chance to come forward and be honest but is refusing to comment. Don't get me wrong, I still have respect for many of the messages but am losing respect for the messenger.
To: Blast Radius
I am shocked also. But I have a lot of faith in Rush. He has been thru a lot. Most of it no one knows about. I will give him every benefit of the doubt. I will support him regardless of the outcome. But I know that he will be honest with his audience when he is able to talk about it. I am sure he is actually dying to discuss it all but has been told that is not wise at the moment.
I have always contended that in every NE story there is a little kernel of truth. So I do not kid myself that there is something serious or series going on here.
But Rush is in my thoughts and prays.

BUMP.
I was really just a young'un when Rush came on the air in 1988.
Being the son of diehard Democrats, [a teacher and a Teamster's Union steward, as well] I listened to Rush at first because my mom didn't like him.
I wanted to see what the fuss was all about.
I listened to him on and off for a few years, and he started to get through to me.
We all have our personal problems, and I hope he gets through these to hold high the banner of conservatives once more.
To: Almondjoy
You must be new here. That's ok.. there is actually a button that tells you what post.. my post.. is in response to.. might want to check that out to get my point. Well no, I've been here as long as you. I just want to know what Rush being (as you say) a pompous a$$ has to do with the discussion? Many of the politicians, and most of the CEO's I know are pompous a$$e$, yet it doesn't affect their work.
To: joyce11111
Rush's eulogy of his mother was the highlite of all his broadcasts. This definded him as a person in my book.He eulogized all of our mothers at the same time.Does anyone have a link to this broadcast?
To: Almondjoy
I lose more respect for this guy everyday.Comments like yours make me respect Rush more every day. To think of supposed fans turning on him because of some BS political correctness and an alleged drug problem - I'm simply dumbfounded.
I suspect you never cared for the man anyway.

How would you KNOW??Because they run companies like ExxonMobil / Shell / Smith International / BPAmoco.
To: Russell Scott
And each day the conservative movement got more and more comfortable in their sleep, being hypnotized by "El Rushbo", while their country goes to hell. Wake up Christians and stop playing church...
I totally agree with everything you say Russell Scott. Thanks for having the guts to come here and tell the truth!
