45,000 E-mails and Counting Thank You
October 6, 2003
2:08 PM ET BEGIN TRANSCRIPT Rush Limbaugh Radio Show
Let me again express a sentiment of pure love and appreciation for all of you. Since last week, when the ESPN brouhaha hit and the drug story hit, the number of e-mails is unbelievable to me. It's approaching the 45,000 mark now. I continue to be overawed by it.
And I just want to take some time here to acknowledge a vast majority of people's support. It is overwhelming. And I want you to know I'm getting it and I receive it. It moves me deeply and greatly. I appreciate it, as I have your support of this program all 15 years, more than I am able to express with words. And I just want you to know that. I never have said it enough, and I want to try to correct that from now on, but I said last Friday that we in this program, we have almost a familial type relationship that has evolved here, and I understand what that entails. And I understand the bond of loyalty that exists and what ties that loyalty together, and one of the things is trust. And I realize that that is shaken in a lot of you, but yet you maintain that you are full-fledged behind me. And I appreciate that, and you will have that support, I hope, validated. You will know that I have continued, and will do what I have to do to earn it, and never take it for granted.
Before we get any further with all this I just want you to know how I appreciate what you're all saying, how much I appreciate all that you've done over all these years and how desperately much I appreciate your expressions of support now. Believe me. I notice it and I'm taking none of it for granted. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

How many time do we have to explain the word "Ditto" as it is used here?
You obviously have not listened enough to Rush to figure this out.
It does not mean we agree 100% with Rush on every issue. It is a way of saying: "I like what you're doing Rush and keep up the good work!"
In his own "humble" way he would say that half his show would be taken up with people's compliments and saying "dittos" is just a way to save time on the show.
Don't you get it? It is all said in jest

...but.. he has not denied the allegations against him... Bear in mind, Rush is a 'pubby so it's natural for him to respond to accusations of misbehavior by cringing. Once it's too late, he'll probably say something or other in his own defense.

So to be a conservative is to love Rush huh? Hardy har har.
Nope, but then again, to argue the points of true conservatism with one of your keen insight is comparable to dropping by DU and extolling the tributes of the republican party.
Obviously you know all the facts behind Rush's current problem. So tell me, who was your source? The space alien or bat boy? LOL!!!!

"If Rush were doing his job, Arnold would have been laughed out of the party when he ran for Governor."
May I ask what precisely you have done for the cause? Other than kick Rush when things are looking down. I do not remember Rush was ever given leadership of the entire conservative movement.
"And I don't remember a worse President than Bill Clinton; all while the "Great Rush" was leading us to a more conservative America."
Don't you remember the election of 1994?
"And each day the conservative movement got more and more comfortable in their sleep, being hypnotized by "El Rushbo", while their country goes to hell."
I don't know how old you are. I am 32 years old. Before the internet, Rush was about the only one out there standing up for us. The only one at least that I could find on the radio. He let us know that we're not alone. I found that very comforting living in a VERY liberal area of Minnesota. I don't know what you expect Rush to do. The guy could not and cannot wave a magic wand around and make everything right in an instant. In the war of ideas, please remember that we will loose a couple of battles. This war has been going on for a long time. It's not going to be won overnight.

When you get your own radio show and have about 600 stations broadcasting your comments 3 hours a day, Ill listen to your advice on what Rush should have said. So far your broadcasting is limited to yapping at Rushs heels .. from a far corner of the planet.
After reading your comments, it struck me that your screen name is appropriately translated as candy ass.

What do you say to the proposition that anybody willing to repeatedly and almost devotionally say "Ditto", to substitute another's words or thoughts for one's own, is no conservative? You don't even know what "ditto" means. Liberals call in and say "ditto." You need to listen to Rush more, I think. :-)
To: AAABEST
Rush started it all. He was there before conservative talk radio (he started it), before the internet, before FOX, before FR. He didn't start it, but he was in the right place at the right time and I do wish him the best in his current turmoil. But Bob Grant was the original.

Get over yourself Rush.. you need to pass on quietly into retirement.
After reading several of your posts the only advice I can offer you is to give up the booze......
No humor or sarcasm tags attached, just disgust.....

I am a reformed Democrat. I really enjoy Rush.....especially last Friday. He was so witty and really handled the situation with a lot of class. I find I have to really listen to what he is saying......I think the distinction he made between talking about how the liberal media has an agenda based on race versus rascism was absolutely correct.
Rush's remarks on ESPN were not rascist in the least. I was especially heartened when a Democrat called, said he didn't agree with Rush on most things, but supported Rush whole heartedly on this issue. It gives me hope for the future where people can disagree civilly and see a truth beyond their own bias.

He's wrong.. twice in a little over a week.
ESPN was once, what was the second time and please support your argument with Legal Substantiated Facts rather than Enquirer news..........

I'm not accusing Rush of anything... I don't know what he's guilty of.. but he's done something.
What a contradiction of statements if I ever read any! Give up the booze and go to bed jackass before you start casting aspersions on your ancestors...........
