WASHINGTON, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Service members and their families will be "honored guests" at the Washington Capitals NHL hockey game against the Carolina Hurricanes as part of the Capitals "Salute to the Military Night," Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 7 P.M. at the MCI Center. The Capitals are dedicating the evening to recognizing our nation's military and their families.

The Capitals and various sponsors have partnered with Operation Tribute to Freedom (OTF) to provide more than 5,000 free tickets to service members. Service members will be able to register beginning Oct. 8, online at www.ima.army.mil website. Select the OTF icon, followed by the Events/Instructions/Register links. Service members can only register using a military or government email address and are limited to four tickets. There is no uniform requirement to attend this event.

OTF is a Department of Defense initiative that started on Memorial Day and ends on Nov. 13, 2003. The mission of OTF is to recognize our nation's uniformed men and women for their service and their families' sacrifices, as well as strengthen the bonds between America's citizens and the military.

What's a 'Military Night'?

Don't they teach copyeditors basic grammar, anymore?

Thanks for posting this!

Ringleader and Warlord, would it be appropriate for us as a group to maybe greet the honored guests (outside MCI Center- across the street) with signs and sincere "thank yous" for their service to our country? Just thinking out loud...

Classy. Hockey, one sport that has not yet denigrated to the lowest common denominator. Unlike 2-3 other professional sports I can think of. :-)

BTW, I'll be seeing the Capitals in action on the 17th when they come to Texas to take on my Dallas Stars.
