4 More Women Go Public Against Schwarzenegger By Gary Cohn, Carla Hall, Jack Leonard and Tracy Weber Times Staff Writers

11:30 PM PDT, October 4, 2003

Four more women have come forward to say that Arnold Schwarzenegger fondled, spanked or touched them in incidents they said took place as recently as 2000 and as long ago as 1979.

In all, 15 women have now accused the Republican candidate for governor of grabbing or groping them. On the campaign trail Saturday, Schwarzenegger denounced as a "puke campaign" news reports that he has behaved abusively toward women.

At this point I'm not much into insulting the McClintock camp any longer. It's beyond the point of it mattering IMO.

I don't think the McClintock camp is capable of understanding how badly they screwed over their candidate on this forum. A guy I planned on supporting and holding rallys for, wound up being a guy I can hardly stomach at this point.

Tom allowed himself to be used as a tool by the casino concerns, and even held one telephone conference with Bustamante, Camejo and Huffington with the sole purpose of screwing his party's front running candidate.

I've been called a RINO, a Manson supporter, a Dahlmer supporter, a NAZI sympathizer, a total sellout, a baby killer...

This election cycle should be a lesson to us all, how not to conduct ourselves on behalf of our candidates.

I can tell you we'll go through this again the next time.

Next time may be next spring when Tom runs in New Hampshire.

Alright, fair enough. You asked a question in your post 7, about "what happens" if there are 20 or 30 of these women? Since I failed to get your point, why don't you break it down for me? What, in your opinion, happens?

Tom McClintock is an honest, professional and knowledgable public servant. I like him.

He was disserved by whoever he availed for consul. He threw away his options. Arnold is up by 30 points in one poll. I think some selfish folks got in Tom's ear, layed some guilt on him about abandoning loyal supporters and his principles (never heard that here) ... and all the whisper whisper hang until the weekend, there gonna be some fireworks and you may be in a two man race. Something like that.

Arnold is NOT going to be smeared out of the race. You don't get to be Mr. Universe and Hollywoods biggest movie star by cowering to intimidation. Tom should have known that about Arnold. He should have withdrawn after the Hitler smear, he could have positioned himself as disgusted with typical tactics and fully supportive of Arnold, and the Party and Tom and Arnold would all have benefitted. Tom's isolated IMO, and if he has some of the FR yin-yangs in his ear he's just another tool to punsish a GOP pol who is not going to put Anti-Abortion at the centerpiece of the party platform. So, Arnold needs to be destroyed and Tom's continuation serves that objective.

Nobody wins here except some martyr junkies.

I would prefer to think that ordinary people don't act that way, 20 years ago or today.

A key word in your sentence is "ordinary". Arnold wasn't "ordinary" and he especially didn't work in an ordinary business. There is such a thing as situational ethics. You may not care to be groped on the rump by another guy but it happens on the football field every day.

I've seen what appeared to be realistic portrayals of fashion shows. Men were walking around watching and in many cases helping women dress and undress. That ever happen where you work? Me neither.

You don't have to watch very many bloopers shows to know that movie and TV sets are far removed behaviorly from a Fortune 50 business. Ever flub a line in a presentation and let loose a stream of profanities? Me neither.

I saw an outtake from the movie National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation where the SWAT team arrives and tells everyone to freeze. Beverly D'Angelo holds a position where her hand is firmly grasping Chevy Chase's crotch. I'm sure it was done for laughs and giggles. That ever happen to you at work? Me neither.

When Arnold arrived in the country, his body was his business. I would be surprised if he didn't experience a lot of groping from women. In a sauce for the goose, sauce for the gander spirit, he probably developed a "grope and be groped" behavior patterns. Was it ever taken too far? Probably. Isn't everything? Does it mean he he harrasses women? I don't think it does.

He has no funding base Ron. He couldn't raise money for the auditors race, how is he going to campaign against George W. Bush? Keyesters are cheapskates, any $1000 or $2000 checks are damn well going to go to Keyes! I'm thinking that there may be somebody like Tancredo who is going to run on a borders, culture, language Independent platform.

Tom has a million supporters in California, if each of them sends 10 bucks ... BWAHAHAHAHA

Any one who would uses the slime ball tactics of the LA times to advance their own agenda has sunk to the level of the LA times.

McClintock supporters claim to be holier than thou, but don't hesitate to hop on the slime-ball bus. Anything to try to advance your man.

I am not a big fan of Arnold. But every time I see a McClintock supporter make the kind of argument you just made, it sickens me.

This McClintock crew is the most despicable element I've ever seen on FR

That is a breathtaking group insult and happens to include Jim Robinson. He ought to throw you off this site for smearing those who happen to stand on principle and don't chase liberal movie stars in the desperate grab for a political miracle. I've had it with you and others trashing conservatives on this site.

This election in California has pretty much smoked out the false conservatives on this site.

If you can't get your principled conservative candidates elected, your principled conservative agenda legislated and passed and your principled conservative party financed ... you're a fart in the wind.

[What happens if there are 20 women on Sunday, and 30 women on Monday?]

Arnold groped my dog.

The dog can't prove it but that's his story and he's stickin' to it.

What's the phone number of the L.A. Times? We want our 15 minutes of fame too.

I agree with your comments. The utter futility of the infighting gets to me. I just think it's a complete waste of time. The Davis/Bustamante side could have gone after each other as well. They were too smart to go that route. We should have been too.

Check out his $100k fundraiser in Colorado a while back. I think you'll find some evidence of Tom looking to a broader base. You may be right, but I still think it's a distinct possibility.

I agree. I prefer McClintock on just about every level. However, both the sleaziness of the dems and the media's gleeful cooperation make me think we need to crack their power - even if it is only a small crack.

I was inclined to think a few more years of Busty or Davis would be survivable in return to a revolt against their beliefs. However, dems have such a stranglehold on the CA media that a few more years may be beyond the point of no return.

A man who takes up bodybuilding has some issues with how he views the world. It is a weird occupation. In addition, Arnold disagrees with me on most issues I hold dear. But the sleazy democratic machine (including the LA Times & SF Chronicle) needs to be beaten!

Played right, this is a good time to get McClintock supporters to vote for Arnold. Blanket insults are not the right way. Quite a few McClintock supporters on this site are moving your direction - why put up roadblocks?

Watching Fox News - the visible, transparent evil of the democratic machine is breathtaking! I suspect it also means they are desperate - and if Arnold makes them feel desperate, then maybe he's worth a nose-holding vote.
