wow...good find! In situations like this, they are going after the people illegally selling the drugs. For whatever its worth, Rush may have thought he was buying the drugs legally. The people here in question are the ones who are the criminals.

Rush is not stupid and has successfully managed two major health problems. IMHO this is a frame up.

Very interesting theory! Its entirely possible and even plausible that Rush was set up.

As good a theory as any, but I'll wait for the facts.
I know from personal experience how easy it is to be innocently caught up in someone else's prescription drug scheme. My wife is a physician. Several years ago, a woman who was a nurse in the hospital ER where my wife worked stole a bunch of blank prescription forms from her. Months later, the authorities called my wife to ask her why she was writing narcotics prescriptions in big amounts all over town. Fortunately, the truth came out pretty quickly.
Since the nurse is the sister of our local Congressman, the Democrat machine fixed it so that she got only a slap on the wrist. She still has her job at the same hospital. Yes, I'll name names: Mary McNulty and Congressman Michael McNulty.

Very plausable. Just as plausable as the other story I think.
Lets just take this as an object lesson to STFU until we know what is going on.

Only problem is Rush said himself today that in the end he will tell us everything....maybe more than we want to know.
I gut tells me that the truth lies BEYWEEN there is his being an addict and your theory of them using his account for other purposes.

I agree and posted a condensed version of this theory over one of the sundry Rush live show threads.
As for Rush not speaking out. I am a civil attorney and was involved in a bs frivolous lawsuit, which made some very serious charges. Being a take charge guy, I tried to head the matter off myself and take care of it. I made three key mistakes that I would never make if I was representing a client in the same situation.
After a month of making the situation worst, I hired my best friend to handle the situation. He corrected my errors and had the case dismissed before I could write him a check.
If you are involved in a serious situation, do not assume because you are an honest straight forward person it will all work out and be honest and straight forward. I know better and attempted this pattern. There are a lot of people in this world who play for keeps, regardless of who you are and what you have done in the past. Keep your mouth shut and let the professionals handle it.
When you are emotionally invested in a situation, it is best to let people who can see the forrest through the trees handle the situation.

Could explain why Rush seemed so perplexed....... Good analysis, thinking or whatever you want to call it...

I don't know, Rush had major surgery a while back, he wouldn't be the first person that got overly fond of painkillers after surgery. Best to let the info flow, we'll find out some version of events which might have some vague resemblence to the truth.

On another thread, I raised the possibility that law enforcement had enlisted Rush to participate in a long-running sting operation to catch the maid's bosses, dealers, pushers and other sundry perps.
Well, my posit is as good as any other right now.
