Rush plausible theory of what happened with the pills
me | 10/03/03 | snooker

Posted on 10/03/2003 11:47:50 AM PDT by snooker

A lot of this drugs and Rush stuff isn't adding up for me. So let me try out a theory here.

Read this on http://www.thesmokinggun.com/doc_o_day/doc_o_day.html

If true it gives insight to the behind the scenes goings on.

Note that the two were running a Palm Beach-area pharmacy.

Now, what if Rush were a legitimate customer of the pharmacy these two owned. Just happened this way. With me so far?

So the maid may have been picking up Rush's legitimate prescriptions all along. So if anyone asked, she just says these are for Rush. Cool cover story for the maid/pusher who might get caught with the drugs eh?

OK lets say these two pharmacy owners were doing what is alleged on the smoking gun site, selling these pills on the black market. Well how do they cover their tracks at audit time? Simple. Rush is a customer. So they simply credit the excess purchases to his account. Why Rush's account? They assume that if anyone wants Rush's medical records he will resist with legal means. Might be why Rush is accused of buying enough of these pills to kill a horse ... hmmmm.

Neat scam we have here. All is fine until the cops start moving in. Then trouble. The maid might have been a pusher who was taking the excess "Rush pills" and selling them, not to Rush but anyone who wanted them. So Rush was part of the cover story for the dealers/pushers.

Now add this tidbit ... I remember Rush on-air several times saying he does not bill his insurance company for drug expenses, he just pays cash for them. He admitted to not keeping records of his drug purchases nor did he total it up for taxes at year end. So Rush was an accidental sitting duck for the scam.

So now Rush goes on the air. Says he doesn't know what is going on. Assume what Rush says is true for the moment and all else begins to make sense.

Curious don't you think.

Snook, speculation is the only thing we have right now. Nice work.

To everyone else: speculating on these things is a tremendous amount of fun. How could you possibly endure a Lacy Peterson, Kobe Bryant, or Joe Wilson thread without suspending belief a little and drinking in some good, old fashioned wonderin'? Don't ridicule anyone for proposing a scenario, relish it.

Now if we could tie Valerie Plame to the Clines.....

Not being familiar at all with the particular pain-killers involved nor with the doses, I've got to ask:

Given the claimed quantities of drug consumption, is it reasonable that he could have remained on the air day after day without it having some noticeable effects on his show?

Heck, it's hard enough getting them to release them to ones spouse

I was once on narcotics for several days for second degree burns to my face and hands. My husband picked them up without a problem and we have different last names. (It happened quite awhile ago though.)

If it were Hillary who was accused, would we try so hard to explain it away?

Adds to the mix of speculation, and the interesting facts coming out about the scope of the investigation.

Opening segment after monolog:

'Rush Limbaugh, a man you can still trust with your wife, your daughter, your husband, your dog, your ferret, whatever...in a Motel 6 while you're out of town on business...'

A coded assurance under the radar of lawyers, meant for real dittoheads, than I've yet to hear.

That's good enough for me.

I always pick up prescriptions for my parents (both mother and father) without even showing my ID. Not unusual.

From "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand... "It's so much easier to pass judgement on a man than on an idea."

I like Rush...I listen to Rush...I appreciate Rush's contribution to America and our freedom.....But, Rush is only a man...liberals are passing judgement on him because they can't refute our ideas. Even if he is taken down by this...our ideas will prevail!

Speaking of drugs, what have you been smoking?

Now add this tidbit ... I remember Rush on-air several times saying he does not bill his insurance company for drug expenses, he just pays cash for them. He admitted to not keeping records of his drug purchases nor did he total it up for taxes at year end. So Rush was an accidental sitting duck for the scam.

If the allegations are true, then in all likelihood, he didn't bill his insurance company for prescriptions, paid cash for his drugs, and failed to keep records for tax purposes because he didn't want a paper trail to follow him around.

Remember folks, even nice people can become druggies and, I guarantee that the more the addict has a stake (i.e., high profile in the community), the more time they will spend coming up with plausible explanations for behavior that otherwise doesn't make sense. And one of the reasons they are able to continue their addiction for so long is that they are surrounded by "enablers" who make excuses for them. If Rush, in fact, has a drug problem, then the best thing you do for him is to turn off the hero worship crap and stop making excuses for him. I just can't beleive how freaking naive some of you are when it comes to addiction and drug abuse. You sound like freaking democrates.

Neat and tidy, with a dash of sage observation... To bad the facts seem to point in another direction. FACT: the maid claimes to have been offered $100K(+) to go away and not talk about it. There is no statement whether or not she took the money or not. But, if I read my perps correctly, she did. Then, suddenly there she is as a CI (Confidential Informant) for the FBI. With tapes and everything.... Hmmmm...interesting... Why would she risk having to lose the $100K (ill-gotten gains and taxation) just for a moment of glory in the "Globe" no less. My guess is that she was a mule for the store owner and his wife and picked up on the imminent bust. SO using the pholosophy of a first strike, she concocted this story, probley with the creative advice of the demo-smear machine, and is running with it. For my nickle, why did they meet clandestinely at a Denny's (I think) parking lot??? She was his MAID for pit sakes... She could have just taken the pills to work with her. There was no need for the "secret squirrel" retinue. Methinks that the "rendezvous" was necessary becuase that is where she conducted business and by implicating Limbaugh, if someopne came forward and said that they had seen here there, she had plausible deniability. Then there is the matter of the bloody cigar humidor, Yeah, let me give you something that many many people have seen in my possession to transport drugs in. Yeah that is a stroke of genius. More likely, she stole it and since it was convenient, it became involved in the scam.

I am a cop, I can tell you that a scroat with a 100 pill a day habit would be barely coherent. There are those that will say that given the temperment of the Limbaugh show, there is already evidence of incoherency. But I digress...

This is a legitimate drug bust, one that probably has Limbaugh on the periphery, but, There is NO way that he was on a 100 pill per day binge. Oh, thats right, he was a DEALER, right??? he needed the money... Right??? Get Real. This is a frame. When the cops get through it will probably be suppressed by the lib media that the maid was in it up to her knickers....

OBTW, I don't even listen to Limbaugh, he is a bit over the top as far as I am concerned, but, I think that he is innocent on the drug rap.

Just to build on what I said.... There are 1440 minutes in a 24 hour day, with 100 pills per day, He woul dhave to take one every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day, to keep up. No Way.

I just went out and re-read the drugstore affidavit. It was back in MARCH for crissakes.... This smells like the women that are pointing their fingers at Schwarznegger... "Yeah back in '78 he touched me". This is a frame. Big-time. If they were going to move on Limbaugh, they would have done it a LONG time ago. Not only that, If he had this big-time habit, where is his supplier now. Dont you think that investigators would have carefully examined every orofice of his body and property for trace evidence. Geez...

I think one of the first things Rush needs to do is fire the maid if he hasn't already.

How about identity theft? Her husband had a history of identity stealing and the maid could be a accomplice. All she had to do is look through his files while she was cleaning. Is it easy to tamper with a Doctor's prescription? Instead of 30 tablets, change it to 3000 tablets? Have it filled at your local unscrupulous pharmacist? Sell the extra on the street. Then implicate Rush in the scheme to cover their tracks and make some money from the story.
