I agree. I think there is more to this story than what is at face value. It's just going to take some patience to let the story unfold.

Talent on loan from Merck.

emotional pain is best not dealt with by using drugs. Make life changes and deal with it.

For all we know, he was getting his leagl prescription from the same place that was dealing.
The maid tries to pass off her dealer role by saying they were for her boss, thinking that maybe she would be off the hook.
But she has to make it look legit so goes to the Enquirer and tells her story for a tidy sum and getting immunity on the way.
As Rush says, I have to find out what I'm dealing with here.

"I thought he was talking about the statemnt that's been there since yesterday, not anything new today."No, I don't think so. The way I understood it was he would post his comments from today on his regular site. Not the pay site.

He starts off the second hour repeating he doesn't know what he's dealing with regarding the drug story.I'm sorry he's taking this tack. I would appreciate it much more if he would simply say that he is not at liberty to discuss this until later on advice of counsel, because that's the truth of the situation.
To: GOPrincess
I'm going to take him at his word, and wait until he is ready and able to talk. I've never heard him be accused of being a liar - other than by Al Franken - so he will get the benefit of any doubt.
To: GOPrincess
I think he's smart not to talk about it. The media is already a circus, and it would become a three ringer if he says anything.... Does anyone "remember" the Scott/Laci Peterson fiasco (media and lawyers included)?

I think you are overlooking the fact that one of the charges against Martha Stewart is that her public defense of herself was a violation of the law and interference with an investigation.
Don't know that they can make it stick, but it is one of the charges.
Rush is wise to say nothing.

".......
but by NOT saying "I am innocent", he was most probably doing some drugs."
Makes a lot of sense.

Boy, I'm sure glad you cleared that up for me.

Holding that sort of thing over people's heads is a good way to control them and make them toe the line.

You don't hire a top-notch slick lawyer and avoid even the simplest denial of drug-taking.Actually, that is exactly what someone in Rush's position should do. People with that kind of money must cover themselves legally. He is doing exactly what he should do.
Now, please understand, he may or may not have been using painkillers. But, until we see definitive proof to this, I will abide by the laws of this country which say you are innocent until proven guilty.
I for one will give Rush the benefit of the doubt until I see something otherwise. Right now all we have is an alleged drug pusher (the maid) and her convicted drug user and dealer husband accusing Rush.
Not exactly the type of people you would believe with no questions asked, eh?
To: Diddle E. Squat
Of course not just quit. But an acknowledgement that "most of what you're hearing is untrue" wouldn't put him in legal jeopardy.

getting prescription drugs from someone else is 'prescription fraud'.
What do you want, everything to be OTC? Forget it.
