Ugh - thats an ugly thought, but if hes an obsessive/compulsive to start with, your scenario is possible.

...and why would he show up at Denny's himself? rich people have others do their dirty work. i don't believe it.

Where's all the sympathy? Um, when your career consists of a large amount of mocking the plight of others, its kind of presumptuous to expect any sympathy yourself.

The records weren't destroyed. According to reports, she turned over a different hard drive and saved the real one with the e-mails. Some of the actual e-mails are re-printed in this weeks Nat'l Enquirer.

Seems to me that Rush admitted (on the air), about a year ago, a couple of times he was a little woozy from his presciption meds. Nothing new here. Just the dems taking the truth and twisting it into a lie. Just like this "outed cia agent" stuff.

"Shouldn?t this housekeeper be arrested for drug pushing?"
"Just a small detail that the media would rather not pursue. After all, she did them a favor."
Assuming there is a shred of truth to these allegations (a giant leap); it is likely the cleaning lady cut a deal so the police could bring down a bigger fish. Law enforcement likes to make examples of celebrities, Martha and Wynona come to mind, and if Rush did this he was quite foolish to think that he wouldnt get caught. Come on, he bet his credibility and entire career in the trust of a cleaning lady?

Lots of people become addicted/dependent on prescription pain killers when they have health problems. People on the left have that problem all the time. I don't think a day passes that we hear someone is going to detox to help them with the problems.
Personally, I don't care a jot one way or the other unless they are in a position of power. If I found out Bush or even his wife (for reasons of possible blackmail, etc.) had the problem I would be darn upset. But Rush is an entertainer, and as far as I am concerned it's his own personal health business. I don't care anymore than when I heard Winona Ryder, Stevie Nix, or Robert Downey were struggling with it.
And frankly, I never heard Rush moralizing about people being drug addicts. (The left loves to act like he does, but he really doesn't). He just objects to other people being forced to PAY for other peoples problems. I am sure Rush is not asking for a taxpayer entitlement for his rehab.

>A typical addict might snort two to four pills or more in powder form in a single sitting, several times a day, depending upon the extent of the addiction.
People with this sort of drug use can barely function. Rush Limbaugh is amazingly adept at running a very successful radio commentary, which requires a lot of preparation and research, to stay on top of the current political events.
I will wait to reserve judgement on this rumor (and rumor is the correct term, at this point).

I've known a few people addicted to pills and they will acquire them by any means necessary. They have a huge fear of running out.

Being a conservative talk show host requires brains! How could rush function effectively in that capacity, if he was stoned all of the time? This is a bunch of bullshit! My sentiments, exactly.
I am consistently amazed at the schedule Rush seems to keep. Who knows how many hours of prep time for his show...a daily 3 hour show and all the stress that goes with that... plus recently more prep time and show time for ESPN... a round of golf everyday...frequent evening outings and weekend trips of various sorts (which he talks about).
It makes me tired even thinking about it and I'm younger than Rush is.
And I haven't noticed any slip in his sharpness. The only time I could notice that he wasn't up to par was in the months leading up to his implant when we didn't know it, but he couldn't hear clearly.
Can you say disgruntled ex-employee.

Still fishy. The housekeeper is guilty of crimes too. Why would she contact prosecuters to turn herself in? It looks to me like a prosecuter would happily take Rush's $120,000 and drive off into the sunset. And how can you verify an e-mail came from the person you said it did?

Geez...everybody give this time to work through. If this woman in fact has e-mails from Rush that say what this article purports then how can he deny the rest?
It seems to me that this woman was observed during a parking lot buy and picked up. She likely cut a deal that included giving Rush up and wearing a wire on him.
If he needed the drugs for his ear problems his Dr. would have prescribed them.
If these assertions prove out Rush is toast as a beacon of conservative ethics and social mores.
It doesn't matter that the lefty media will beat this to death, that's to be expected. It does matter that, if this does prove true, Rush's fall will be through his own words and actions.
We would look like children if we don't face that honestly.

So what if Rush does have a problem. If he's opposed or neutral to the War On Some Drugs, then so nothing. But it appears (although I can find no direct quotations) that he favors the War On Some Drugs, making him a rank hypocrite.

Well, I hope to Hades someone asks why the heck Wilma ended up with a lawyer with ties to Toon and the DNC. And how a maid is paying for him...
To: kattracks
What a whack job by the Dems. If this maid was so sure of her story, why go to the Enquirer? I realize that nowadays, it probably has as much validity as the NYTimes (and the stories the Enq. makes up are far more entertaining), but the aura of fabrications taints any story that comes out of the paper. I have to admit, I found the stories about Hillary and Bill to be hilarious, but even though I despise both, I never once thought any of the Enquirer stories were true.
That being said, is it possible that Rush's doctor prescribed one or all of these painkillers to Rush, the mole maid saw them in the medicine cabinet, and decided that the opportunity was too good to pass up. This could also be the result of a failed blackmail attempt. I think I would believe Rush before I would believe some "maid." And certainly, one does not have to be {"hooked on painkillers" to use them. The alleged numbers of pills mentioned, and the ability of Rush to continue to think on his feet for 3 hours a day make me believe that the whole thing was fabricated. I know people that have to use Oxycontin, and there is a certain degree of "dulling" of their performance.
If I were Rush, I would look to see if the "maid" planted anything around his house, which she would have the run of.
To: MrLeRoy; SittinYonder
Maybe (IF THIS STORY IS TRUE TO SOME EXTENT) this will open his eyes to the 'war on some drugs' and its failings.
Worth hoping for.
