Tom McClintock continues his walk toward the California political graveyard. It is an unstoppable walk, almost suicidal in its dedication.
McClintock is my first choice as governor. He would make a great governor. Ronald Reagan would also make a great governor. Unfortunately, those of us who live in the real world of California politics, recognize that neither McClintock, the Gipper, nor the pornstar will be the next governor of California. We recognize that politics is the art of the possible. Although Bruce Herschenson's recent commercials are well done, they are no more than wishful thinking. I've met Bruce. He would have been a great senator, and he came very close.
So, what will happen to McClintock? Unfortunately, he has painted himself into a corner. He has said over and over that he will not drop out. If he drops out now, he will be seen as a liar. If he doesn't drop out and Bustamante is handed the governorship, he will never be forgiven by Republicans. He will be a political dead man walking. Even if Arnold pulls it out in a close 3-man race, the GOP has been hoping for a Terminator mandate. Such would make it easier for him to deal with the runaway RATS who have been destroying our state.
Yes, McClintock is principled. Yes, Arnold only supports some of my own agenda. But Bustamante supports none of my agenda. I guess I'll take someone with whom I have 70% agreement and can win, rather than someone with whom I have 95% agreement who cannot win. Face it, McClintock Kool-Aid drinkers -- he is a great man but he cannot win. Standing on principles is noble, however, if you get no place at the table, all it does it make you feel good that you did the right thing. With a RINO in power, at least we have some chance of influencing policy. Maybe we can even change his mind on some issues. We will never have any influence over the Mecha Man. He will continue to destroy our state.
Tom McClintock is self-terminating. May his political career rest in peace.

I concur with your posting, except I think I heard something on radio today
about the Herschenson commercials that gave me pause.
I'm wracking my brain, but I think I heard the ads are...paid for by
Indian gaming money.
I hope I'm wrong, but I decided to go ahead and post so that we could get a
"confirm or deny" from the forum.
I'm starting to think I'm the only person in CA that hasn't either given
gotten something from the Indian gaming groups...

Hang in there Tom!

As a fellow convert of Milton Friedman's writing, I believe Arnold will do a lot of good for California. Think of it, here we have a presidential election but its being shadowed by a govornor's race. If nothing else it will make the RATS have to spend alot more in California then they were planing on. I think Arnold as govornor means a good chance to get the senators changed to Republicans later on, perhaps with even mcClintock boucing out one of those Rat bitches.

IMO Bustamante would be much more devistating to gun ownership in California. Do what you've gotta do.

and here is but one route that will be taken by the right wingers to try and dethrone the president, and run their own candidate to split off support from the right...
and it will be financed in part by donations from friends of bill, the gambling mafioso that suppport McClintock and the Labor movement, that is doint the same thing...
her highness will be very pleased.

Yes. With Pete Wilson we prevented a Phil Burton type redistricting in 1991. In 2011 we can help build up a Republican state legislative majority.

I'm beginning to wonder if there are any good Republicans left. I wouldn't be so fatalistic. McClintock should do what he wants.

...here's another difference: Arnold's weight is distributed higher up on his torso. That's all done with Hollywood special effects.
If they had filmed Gary Coleman with the same camera angle,
he could've had a promising career in the NBA.

the "sour grapes" rebellion is now fully underway...
to unseat rinos nationwide... including their most hated rino poster boy... OUR PRESIDENT...
Alan keyes and his talking points are clearly starting to take shape...

Are you trying to say today Bustamante, tomorrow Hillary? Now wouldn't that be something.

Almost sounds like an out of work jobs placement program. Heh heh heh...

Look you guys, I have to admit to liking Alan, but this is hilarious.
To: Robert_Paulson2
Don't forget, so is Simon after his endorsement. In fact that whole list of people and organizations are now RINOs, or RINO infested. I'm beginning to like the term RINO. After being called it by the likes of this crew, it means nothing any longer.
