Just returned from the Nashville Immigrant Worker Freedom Ride rally and definitely got an earful. Directly facing the brand new Country Music Hall of Fame on the grounds of the Hilton Hotel, about 1,000 illegal immigrants were preceded by the Perl-Cohn High School marching band on the newly-renovated Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge crossing the Cumberland River from the poorer Eastern side of town. While they were on their way I asked a Hilton employee if the hotel owned the grounds or if they were part of the Hall of Fame or the city park system. He proudly stated that Hilton owned it and the group could not meet there without their express permission. Campaign workers for Dennis Kucenich and a vender selling buttons and stickers calling for Bushs impeachment (and other seditionist tripe) were anxiously waiting for the band to finish and the organizers to get organized. An old fellow opened with a rendition of We Will Overcome, which was entirely lost on the aliens but was carried by the black and liberal Caucasians in the crowd. It was only then that I noticed that those two groups were far and away the majority present, despite Nashville harboring tens of thousands of illegal immigrants. The only police presence there was to insure orderly traffic flow. Ill save you the pain of hearing the usual lies and clichés from the variety of speakers with their translators. You can catch all that at tnimmigrant.org, maldef or Council of LaRaza websites. What was interesting was that this group is pushing for PC 158, the shameful law passed in 2001 that opened Tennessee Drivers Licenses to illegal aliens. They were complaining that conservatives and other forces of evil are working to rescind this law (which is a national embarrassment to this state). Thick in the crowd and chumming with the organizers were many notable Tennessee Democrats doing their part to look as if they really cared. I was fortunate to stand next to a film crew from the Methodists who were interviewing the primary leader of the rally, Reverend Lawson. He espoused Christian tolerance, union representation and the right for the illegals to vote on the grounds that they pay their share of taxes and do the work we wont do. With a straight face. I restrained myself and smiled. One man, just one man, was walking around with a sign that said What is it about Illegal that you dont Understand? While I approached to speak with him two young men in their early 20s started hassling him. I stepped in and pointed out that they were interfering with a CITIZENS right to protest. They didnt like the two-on-two aspect and looked toward their friends for backup. When that didnt occur these two tried to obstruct the mans sign and ridiculed him behind his back. I one-upped them with a hes the man gesture (Scott Hall of NWO, a wrestling thing) and they retreated. He decided that was enough (seeing how well supported we were) and called it a night. Daniel was one brave fellow who was unaware of Free Republic until I told him about it. I finished up the evening by passing out fliers to the illegal aliens that urged them in Spanish to go home, overthrow their corrupt governments and improve their lives in their home countries. The flier also told them that their supporters were Communists who were using them as tools for their own agenda. I exchanged one of these with a cheerful drone who informed me that the illegals provide 25 billion dollars in tax revenue for all of our benefit. That was MY cue to exit, Stage Right, even. The ranting was only getting louder as I left for home.

I suppost they believe American Citizens would not pay taxes and spend that money here if they held those jobs... < /barf >
I would say it's time to note who the traitors are but apparently the Dem voters list should suffice.

I've always been curious to quiz some of our visitors from south of the border why having a driver's license is of such urgency to them. Surely it's not because they feel an overwhelming compunction to comply with the law, otherwise they wouldn't be here in the first place.
I'd love to hear a reason, amigos, why a driver's license is so important to you. It wouldn't have anything to do with our extant motor voter law, would it?
LOL! If you think that's shameful, you should have seen them during the four year battle against the income tax.
Predictably, every time the issue came close to a vote, they'd take the kiddies out of school and bus them down to the capitol on the public school buses, and give them pro-income tax placards to wave.
Buses, teachers, loss of a school day... all at taxpayers expense. Talk about an arrogant slap in the face.
Whenever I've crossed over the border from Mexico at the border bridges, I've only been asked verbally my citizenship, I know some people who aren't Americans have said the same thing ---- if they say "American" that's it, they're over (even if they aren't). I have talked to some people who have been asked to show a US drivers license. That's the most proof anyone ever has to show.
The reason most really want the drivers licenses isn't even to vote---- it's so they can travel freely throughout the USA and of course back and forth over the border whenever they feel like it.
I suspected as much. On the buses stopped on I-10, there were 87 passengers --- 15 of those were media types. I'm wondering if there are even any illegals in this "freedom ride" or if it's just regular Marxists and anarchists. I'm sure they dug up some legal or citizen Aztlan and La Raza types to make people believe this is about illegals.
