This poll could still be a ploy to encourage McClintock supporters NOT to vote for Arnold, thereby increasing Bustamante's chances of winning.

"Poll Vault: California Voters Flocking to the Governator (Arnold over Busta by 15%)" Good! Looks like the Governator may have it in the bag. There is still time for all of the Republicans to line up behind Arnold and make it an overwhelming victory.
Some say that Arnold is not a true Republican. So what!! What is more important here is that he's not Davis or Bustamante.

Let it be said that the charge against McC that he threatened Arnie's rightful ascension to governor is now moot.
While it appeared to be a close run thing even a few days ago, it is now clear that Arnie is gonna take this race right up the middle and out of Dem hides
Hopefully the level of discourse can now focus on meaningful discussion about getting Calif back on track.
Will McC supporters cooperate, or will they continue to cast barbs at the new administration?

Don't delude yourself. McClintock voters would never vote for arnold anyway!

I've always figured the McClintock candidacy would be irrelevant to the outcome, glad to see the polls coming around. His name recognition alone will give Arnold several more percentage points in the final results than the other major polls are showing.

Poll Vault: FReepers Flocking to the Governator (Arnold over Tom by 7%)The ongoing FReeper Poll continues to show Arnold pulling away.
Still With Arnold + Changed to Arnold = 51.44%
Still With Tom + Changed to Tom = 44.20%
If Tom can't win among this constituency, where can he win? His continued presence in the race serves only to keep Bustamante's fading hopes alive. It becomes more apparent by the day which candidate most appeals to the conservative base.

I understand that Davis and his friends, relatives and political colleagues have rented every Penske truck in northern California and are backing them up, one by one, to the State Treasury building to pick up loads.
We talk about the RINOs and that certain Republicans aren't, well, Republican enough all the time. It is silly. Arnold's problems begin the day he takes over. The legislature is still a dem sewer only now, they have someone to blame ALL the troubles on. McClintock, who would be a better governor, no doubt, will be very important in the legislature watching Arnold's back and guiding legislation. Then, next year, he can run for Senate, with a Republican as governor.

Well, maybe the Lefties are learning that their ugly smear tactics have repurcussions.

"It's a joke," Davis strategist Peter Ragone said of the poll. "I'm surprised they're even publishing it. There hasn't been a public poll or private poll taken by a Republican or Democrat in the last three months with any slight resemblance to these wacky results." Except perhaps their internal polls, which are not skewed intentionally like the Field Poll and the LA Times poll.
