You're right. McClintock and I may share a conservative philosophy, but he has, like the most recent former president, put self-interest and ego above tens of millions of party members thereby providing support, albeit indirectly, to the opposing party in a major election -- an election that McClintock clearly cannot win.
As a result of his disloyalty, McClintock should consider turning in his Republican credentials. To acknowledge his egoism, McClintock should consider replacing the last two letters of his last name with an "n".
Ah, what the he#!. We're going to win this election despite McClintock's behavior.

McClintock the loose cannon... taking down guys on his own side of the battle. It is rather strange behavior...Is it his ego? Blinded by the big lights and his 15 min. of fame?

The very least they could do is go public with the dem's mis-use of the filibuster and then explain why it's a mis-use relative to judicial appointments.

Based on his continual agitation against the GOP as a whole for all these years, my guess would be more of his having a self-righteous narrow-visioned ideology... and poor political skills :-(
Either way, bad for the GOP. No wonder they haven't been supporting him for years...

As President he (Reagan) he gave amnesty to over 2.4 million illegal immigrants. He did that and the thing was that was supposed to be it...guard the border, no more invaders.
I find it fascinating that Arnold supporters would even trash the symbol of American values to make a point.
I'm not a McClintock supporter per se. I'm a resident of Massachusetts who can see what happens when the party chooses victory over principle. It just allows the Dems to go way left, and still win.
And what did we get? Can-win Romney wanted to run for governor, so true conservative, highly regarded and grass-roots party builder Rappaport stood aside and said he'd run for LtGov. Well, then Romney trashed his candidacy for LtGov in favor of a relative-unknown, liberal Kerry Healey. Rappaport got nothing...so much for respect.

Hint:
don't you think his self-portrait of fighting terrorists at the Alamo is just a bit over the top? Whataya think?
McClintock shrugs off these kinds of predictions as "terrorist threats" from people who've never liked him anyway, and repeats his vow to race to the finish. "I've always found wisdom in the motto on Davy Crocket's pocketwatch that was found in the debris of the Alamo," McClintock said, "'Be sure you're right, and go ahead."'

Excuse me, but, I am watching foxnews and they are saying Arnold has a very large lead, so, pray tell, who is Tom "taking down"? I thought you didn't need our votes for Arnold to win, therefore, why are you so concerned about us Mc voters. I was under the impression that Arnold's people are convinced he will win. If that's the case, why do you continue to harp on us? You've made your choice, we have made ours. I'm voting FOR recall so that should help your guy, even though I prefer McClintock.

go public??? Perhaps. I'm not quite sure which media outlets besides the ones that already cater to conservatives would give such a press item signifcant coverage.

In the game of political metaphors, he prefers to think of himself as Seabiscuit - the scrappy California race horse who outran the establishment. The recall election has catapulted McClintock into prominence and given him a platform to articulate his anti-tax, anti-abortion, pro-gun philosophy to millions of voters he believes will be receptive to his message.
Seabiscuit ? How about McMaverick or McLooseCannon or McItsAllAboutMe ?? ...

I read some of the slime on Arnold that we'll be hearing about in vivid detail this coming week. It's graphic and damning. If Bustamante gets elected because of this there are going to be a lot of people eating crow. Exactly what did you hear?

How about a press conference? If they have to pay for it, hey, they are spending our money like drunken sailors anyway, so, why not pay the media for a press conference castigating the mis-use of the filisbuster. It would also help if the President would use the bully pulpit a bit more especially since it's his nominees who are being rejected.

Is that because of the polls or is your vote primarily to stop Bustamonte?

I have to wonder why Bush waited so long until he used his pulpit to cast the much needed light on the Estrada hearing. Perhaps it was a politcal move where he knew that the Democrats couldn't save face after the damage had reached the point of irreversability? Or perhaps he just had more faith inthe congress than he should have. I don't really know.

Oh no - years ago, there was a poster called DITHF, for Deep In The Hurtgen Forest, who claimed to be a serviceman in Germany with access to not-quite-classified information which he posted. After exposure as a fraud, he evaporated. Chancellor Palpatine obviously remembers him too.

The point being, I'm very wary of unsourced warnings of information yet to come.
