[history]
Democrats are prepared to filibuster a Republican plan to spend $13 million to give up to 2000 children in Washington, D.C., a $7,500 school voucher. But Democrats are not planning to filibuster President Bush's plan to spend a fresh $87 billion in Iraq without rescinding some tax cuts for the wealthy to pay for it.
There is something wrong with this picture.

TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; Culture/Society; Editorial; Government; News/Current Events; Philosophy
KEYWORDS: democrats; education; evilrepublicans; hate; kennedy; vouchers
I began reading this in this mornings Virginian Pilot when, without the faintest hint of irony, I found this statement:
Let me also stipulate that Republicans are often evil, and their claim to champion poor children is largely a hoax.. Here is an ultra-Liberal, who appears to see the value of vouchers, but who lives in a universe where REPUBLICANS ARE EVIL WHO WANT POOR CHILDREN TO FAIL.
Question for psychiatrists on FR: are there drugs for this kind of mental illness?

The headline is confused, not the Democrats. They know very well which side their bread is buttered on--the side of the teachers' unions.
Now, say after me: "The primary purpose of the public schools is to give lifetime employment to the political allies and supporters of Democrat politicians. The secondary purpose is to indoctrinate kids to be Democrats. The tertiary purpose is to educate them."

Liberals, like this evil son of a birch, are trying to co-op the word "evil" to distract from it's real meaning so it cannot apply to liberals, when in fact, the true meaning of "evil" is best illustrated by the actions and desires of the ones trying to deflect the meaning to others. I like long sentences.

I see that the article I posted was excerpted. The part that attracted my attention was his characterization of Republicans as evil, per se.

13 million is chicken feed to the beltway bandits. On just about anything else they'd throw this money around like so much trash. They are obviously afraid of something here. What are they worried about? The RATS are scared its going to work and that it would be the beginning of the end of thier educRAT monopoly

I agree but also disagree. I don't think education of the chillun even enters into the plan, they really don't seem to give a shiite as to the results of their ongoing propaganda campaigns.

It's not mental illness. It stems from the fact that Liberalism is a religion (a philosophy for ordering their thinking about their place in the universe) rather than a political philosophy. That's why they're so vehemently against Christianity (it conflicts with their religion), and why they hate us so much (we've taken the place of demons in their pantheon).

It is surprising that the Democrats aren't supporting another big government giveaway program.

Liberals, like this evil son of a... I have observed that liberals will project their pathology onto conservatives. Whatever they say, i.e "evil and want to hurt children" is truly their problem. In this case, they are evil and want to hurt children. What is not often recognized is that this projection displays their weakness.

I have observed that liberals will project their pathology onto conservatives.Definitely, but Miller's swipe at conservatives was toothless. The interesting thing is his support of vouchers.
Like the trace quantities of leftists who celebrate the ousting of Saddam, they even more starkly illustrate the massive denial problem of the liberal mainstream.
Ask not for diagnosis of Miller's continuing aversion to the right, but for the diagnosis of the center's failure to support real policy fixes like vouchers.
