**World Exclusive** Democratic presidential hopeful General Wesley Clark offered lavish praise for the Bush Administration and its key players in a speech to Republicans, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
During extended remarks delivered at the Pulaski County GOP Lincoln Day Dinner in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 11, 2001, General Clark declared: "And I'm very glad we've got the great team in office, men like Colin Powell, Don Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Paul O'Neill - people I know very well - our president George W. Bush. We need them there."
Clark praised Reagan for improving the military:
"We were really helped when President Ronald Reagan came in. I remember non-commissioned officers who were going to retire and they re-enlisted because they believed in President Reagan."

This works to Clarks advantage. It might hurt him with his base, but nationally, it makes him look like a moderate Dem.

The killer in all this is that Clark's praise was pre-911. The Bush Admin's actions since then have been stellar. But of course, Clark should have been consulted after 9-11. /sarcasm
If a shun by the Bush Admin is the only reason this guy is running as a Dem, then he is target number one for the other Democrats. Is it possible Clark is a DINO???? Well, I know what he is, but I'm too much of a lady to say it.

"The story of Rove not wanting anything to do with Clark, insulates the Bush Adm. of any Rat spin. I guess the Clinton advisors will be scrambling for a job. If the Clintons got blind sided they are now in war room mode!!"
So, was this the call that Rove didn't answer? Could it be that there were some character issues that the administration didn't want to be associated with?

ok.. heres the secret..
Clark is actually a full fledged Republican. They hatched this plan a long time ago. Clark is planning on joining forces with Clinton to get the nomination. At which time, Clark then fumbles the ball.. Clinton is happy because he clears the way for Hillary. Clark is happy because he has sacrificed for the Republicans by running and fumbling and insuring a Bush victory. or maybe not..

Thats exactly what Gen. Hugh Shelton said. I think this matter of character had to come up in the Bush Adm. A heads up from the Gen. perhaps.!

"Clinton tried the same deception on us and it didn't work..."
If you overlook those troublesome eight years that he served as President.

I heard Drudge report this on Hannity this afternoon. The thought that came to me was, all the clinton operatives have gathered to ostensibly run
his campaign.
sinator hillary! could nicely step into the already-gathered campaign committee while Fireclarker self-destructs.
First time I've seriously considered that the evil witch of the west wing might actually throw her pantsuit in the ring.
Cold shudder.

And to that I would be in rintense agreement...Hey nice to see ya around again.
You may not say it but I will...Clark is nothing more than the south end of a north-bound horse!!!

They have so few real posters over on DU and they have such a limited imagination, that all their screen names have been used and banned over here. Poor little Dewars - hey, that makes me want to go take a drink, and enjoy this moment. :-)

I know Clark has been awarded a Purple Heart; does anyone know if he was shot in the head?by his own troops?

This has all been so obvious, The Democrats have been desperate to hitch their wagon to a military man during a war time election. Let's face it, they don't have many choices so they gave ol' faithful a call. It's kind of like waiting until the last minute to get a date for the prom.............then you get him or her into the car and you realize just why he or she was available when you called.

Rove is likely already cutting video tape for the commericals. Then again so are Kerry's and Dean's managers.Ah, what the hell... while he's in the editing room, Karl can cut their commercials for them, too. Free of charge of course.
