Hi Spunky. This is a quote from your post.
"They don't say if the call originated from Amber's phone or Scott's phone or what time this call was made. If the call originated from Amber's phone, I wonder if they are positive Amber talked with Scott or maybe Laci picked up the phone and then got into a confrontation with Scott."
There are three sources that it was Amber who called Scott the Dec 23rd.The first is Greta VanSusteren speaking to Howard Breuer. Here is the conversation from the transcript.
Van Susteren: All right. Howard,Dec 23,a phone call from Amber Frey, the girlfriend. Can you tell us the details?
Breuer: Well,we don't know the details of the call. There's speculation that that might have set off a heavy argument between Scott and Laci....
The second source is from Catherine Crier, and it was posted on court TV. A reported call had been placed from Amber the night before Christmas Eve to Laci and Scott's house.
The third source is an article from the CBS affiliate Channel 5. It was posted on their website, the pix page, titled,New Information About scott Peterson's Affair, which goes on to say,"Channel 5 reports that on Dec 23,Frey called the Peterson home and Laci reportly answered the phone".

This sounds terrible but if you were going to wrap Laci, I can picture this: Lay out the tarp, lay Laci on it. Take one end and fold it down and secure it by taping it in the crotch area. The take the other end and tape it beyond the crotch area. In other words, there are no ends to open and the head and feet. When the tarp deteriorated and or broke loose, the tape remained.

IIRC, Amber's father vehemently denied on national TV that Amber ever spoke to Laci.
To: Sandylapper
Your correct. The source was KTVU. Ted Rowlands--in a telephone conversation,Ron Frey--Amber's father--said his daughter denies making such a call.(calling the Peterson house Dec23,and Laci answering the phone)

LOL! Well, it's been hard to get a mental picture of what Laci might have been wearing when she was killed, anyway.
When the body was found, we kept hearing about "a maternity bra". Then later we heard that remnants of cream-colored maternity pants had been found on the body. This sounded like a clear contradiction of what Scott said she was wearing when he last saw her: black pants, white shirt.
OTOH, cream-colored maternity pants, I think, sort of matched what Amy said Laci wore when Amy last saw her, the evening of the 23rd. And there's a videotape, I think, that will back up whatever Amy says.
Of course, Scott's lawyers will simply say something like, "Laci was wearing black pants when Scott last saw her, but apparently she changed after that."

Good work, Maggie! Makes it pretty clear.

"Amber's father vehemently denied on national TV that Amber ever spoke to Laci."
You're right, I remember that he said that--though I didn't see him on TV. (I read about it here!)
Well, though, old Ron Frey was clearly basking in the attention, and IMO, he talks out his *** at times. Furthermore, it's possible that Scott actually answered that call. I mean, he could've been with Laci when the call came. Imagine him grinning, etc. My brother has more than one female friend, and you should see the one girlfriend when the other one calls him. She knows instantly that something funny is going on, even though she can't hear who it is on the other end. Laci may have said, "who's that?" and have demanded an explanation.
To: MaggieMay
Did Ron deny that she called the house at all, or only deny that she talked directly to Laci? And did Ron deny that she might have called Scott on a cellphone? I can't remember the answers to these questions. Furthermore, IMO, Ron has pretended to know more about Amber's affair than he probably really knows. He likes the limelight!

That a direct quote, from the the article(I wrote the entire quote, verbatim).

Okay. Thanks!
To: Devil_Anse
This is not necessarily gospel, for I've already had one senior moment today, but the wording of Ron Frey's denial was a little suspect. Seems to me that he was denying specifically that Amber had ever spoken to Laci directly on the phone. IIRC, it did not rule out the possibility that she might have phoned the residence. Maybe Scott answered, or possibly no one was at home, and she could have left a message.

You're reading this thread in the first place to titillate yourselvesSpeak for yourself you sophmoric twit.
I can't speak for Hildy, but I follow this thread in hopes that another O.J. debacle is not repeated.

Of course, Scott's lawyers will simply say something like, "Laci was wearing black pants when Scott last saw her, but apparently she changed after that." Or... "Laci's black pants got bleached out in that same swimming pool that attacked Scaught's hair."

Ron Frey DID vehemently deny that Amber ever spoke to Laci. Also, I doubt Peterson gave her his home number. It was probably one of his other FIVE numbers!!

"There are three sources that it was Amber who called Scott the Dec 23rd."Wow! Are these quotes recent? After this article came out on all the calls made or were they from way back when Amber's father denied that she had ever called Laci?
I have so many questions I would like to know the answer to.
1. If Amber thought Scott was going to be in England or France, (or wherever it was) over Christmas, like was said in some articles, why would she call him on his cell phone on Christmas Eve? Do cell phones go across continents?
2. To my knowledge it has never been said whether or not Amber knew Scott lived in Modesto but I find it hard to believe she didn't know. I have never had a cell phone, but wouldn't their number indicate a local like a regular phone's area code?
Since I believe she knew where he lived and she has a sister living in Modesto, I think she had her sister check him out.

".....it's possible that Scott actually answered that call. I mean, he could've been with Laci when the call came. Imagine him grinning, etc."When my husband answers the phone I can almost always tell who he is talking to by his mannerism and the different tone his voice has depending on who he is talking to.
If Scott did get the call from Amber I can just imagine his tone and mannerism was so different that Laci would have had lots of suspicion.
I am still of the feeling though that Amber and Laci talked but I guess we will never know.

Help me out, here, CO. Wasn't the rumor/possibility discussed about the same time this was supposed to be happening (a couple of weeks before Christmas), that Amber had hired a private detective to check Scott's story that he was unmarried? Some on the thread speculated that maybe Amber had gotten Scott's home address and phone number from the alleged detective. But, I'm with you...I don't think Scott gave Amber his home phone number.
