If I were a Democrat, my main priority for the party would be to get the car keys back from Bill Clinton. The most important line of the piece.

Someone suddenly remembered the candidate had been pre-miked and called the girl from the TV crew over to make sure nobody was recording any flushing sounds as happened, if memory serves, in the first Naked Gun movie. Hilarious scene. Too bad they didn't leave a live mike on Ketchup Boy.

CNN Propaganda Machine. There oughta be a law against publishing polls using techniques that are known to be unreliable.

Fourth, Clark has a lot of loopy soundbites floating around suggesting hes some sort of paranoid narcissist. "I've been ASTONISHINGLY CONSISTENT."

48% of the people polled identified themselves as democrats. They were asked to choose between Bush or Clark and Clark got a stellar 49% of the total. Run Clark run!
Democrats will decieve anyone, even themselves.

I think Steyn grossly underestimates the eagerness of the ultra-left wing media to do Willie's bidding and bacl Clark the Arkie. "Loopy sond bites?" They are sound bites only if some one will play them and you aren't going to see Dan, Peter, or Curly play them. CNN has hours of Wes-Is-Less tape from his Iraq consulting gig and they NEVER will show the stupid stuff, only the stuff that Wes-Is-A-Mess's handlers will let them.
BTW, great Steyn, as usual, but his use of the word "percolator" was one of the strangist and most imprecise formations I ever seen him use. Only us geezers know what it means. And, of the 100,000 folks reading this posting this morning who are also drinking coffeee, not more than 10 are drinking coffee made in a percolator. Of those ten, 9 are over age 90 and 8 of them have hated Joe DiMaggio for 50 years or more.

Wow! That article was spectacular even for Steyn.
I was just explaining to a liberal friend of mine just how horrible Clinton and his "people" have been for liberals.
She just couldn't see it. He's "her Bill" and she loves him and irrepresible wife.
Her ilk are just fawning battered wives, who just don't mind a few black eyes for love.

Christopher Guest could make a great movie of this in the tradition of "Spinal Tap" and "Waiting for Guffman". he could call it "Waiting for None of the Above". I can see the interview skit now: the four-star general, auditioning for commander-in-chief of the greatest nation in the world, gets on live TV and says, "please wait a minute while I make a phone call. I'm not sure I'm allowed to answer that question."
After all, "... when you get into this, what happens is you have to put yourself in a position."
