I think Steyn grossly underestimates the eagerness of the ultra-left wing media to do Willie's bidding and bacl Clark the Arkie. "Loopy sond bites?" They are sound bites only if some one will play them and you aren't going to see Dan, Peter, or Curly play them. CNN has hours of Wes-Is-Less tape from his Iraq consulting gig and they NEVER will show the stupid stuff, only the stuff that Wes-Is-A-Mess's handlers will let them.

BTW, great Steyn, as usual, but his use of the word "percolator" was one of the strangist and most imprecise formations I ever seen him use. Only us geezers know what it means. And, of the 100,000 folks reading this posting this morning who are also drinking coffeee, not more than 10 are drinking coffee made in a percolator. Of those ten, 9 are over age 90 and 8 of them have hated Joe DiMaggio for 50 years or more.

Can't you hear that coffee commercial in your head, where the percolator perks out a tune?

Not true. There was a dance song out 'bout 3 years ago called "Doin' the Percolator"

The kids will be amused, but the adults will still understand the meaning.

Best coffee commercial ever was the Maxwell House tune playing on the percolator.

I disagree about your percolator comment. Nearly everyone who's gone camping has used a percolator, as it's the only way to make decent coffee over a fire. It keeps *most* of the grounds out. (BG)

Except for those in VA who are still sitting in the dark thanks to Isabel while their coffee pot percolates on the side burner of the gas grill...as mine did until yesterday.

I resent the 90% over 90 yrs old or the 90% of the 9 who hate JOE. I am very much less than 90 I will need those 50 extra years and can't say I hate Joe in any way.

I get my "cup-o-joe" from a percolator. ALways have. Gets hotter faster. 1000 watts. POOF, coffee. Starbucks and the other "coffee houses" are just fads. I am a coffee fan. Strong, caffinated and hot.

No matter how much one tries to avoid "lifer juice" in the Army, it seems you always end up with a cup of it in your possesion. Coffee is truly "the nectar of the Gods"

As for the "older DEMS" this kinda goes the way you decribe the "joe haters" they vote Dem because they feel loyalty to FDR and HST. But there it ends. The cildren of the Viet Nam vets are for the most part Reps.

Oh well my "kitchen noise maker" is silent now gotta go pour me a cup.
