September 25, 2003 -- WASHINGTON - An Air Force translator at the terrorist prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, was caught downloading secrets from the military's ultra-secure computer network and e-mailing the files to Syria, Pentagon officials revealed yesterday. The brazen act of betrayal by Syrian-born Air Force Senior Airman Ahmad al-Halabi, 24, was among new details that emerged in the spy scandal at the high-security prison that could involve four other officers.

What they mean is that it's secure from outside hackers. When I was in the Navy, I retired a year ago. It was easy to download classified material from what is probable the same computer network that's being talked about here. All you need is a blank disk. It's a system begging to be abused.

Syrian Information Minister Ahmed al-Hassan called the allegations "baseless."

I call that "the kiss of death". Halabi is going to go down hard for this.

More evidence that allegiance to the Religion Of PeaceTM is incompatible with loyalty to America.

Muslims and Chinese operatives must be weeded from access to sensitive information.

Meanwhile, citizens of China are working every day in our most secret weapons labs.

This is the "stupid country." Our leadership is so politically correct as to give away all national security without serious concern.

Foreign nationals steal our secrets having been allowed into the inner sanctum and grey-haired grandmothers are searched at airports as if they constitute a threat.

Government idiots!

Pentagon officials revealed that a Navy officer stationed at Gitmo, where 660 dangerous al Qaeda and Taliban prisoners are incarcerated, is being questioned about other security breaches.

So the Navy guy being held is an officer.

Claire Shipman of ABC reporting yesterday morning the bleeding heart pity angle..."prisoners, no contact with families...very likely just feeling sorry for the prisoners and sending notes to family members...Xnumber of suicide attempts, blah blah blah".

Not just Shipman on ABC. Chris Whitcomb on Imus this morning was spewing the same line. Unbelievable.

I should add, not for the prisoners. No sympathy there from Whitcomb, he was suggesting the sympathy angle might account for why the alleged spies were allegedly spying.

Well, the chaplain spent 4 years in Syria and some time in Saudi. They still used that guy. Boy, I hope they were wise to these guys from the get-go.

I too am dumbfounded by all the nonsense the commentators are spewing. Of course, these were the same people who supported a lazy, unconcerned President Clinton who ignored the intelligence that might have prevented 9/11, so what can you expect?

This spy looks mighty whitey and clean cut. Like any Italian-American might look. This helped him slither by. In a way it's all good because now the military will have to boot or monitor it's Wahabbi chaplins and the military will keep it's eye on Moooooslim translators.

This lesson comes at a relatively cheap price.
