Debate Terminates Arnold

Tom wins Recall Debate. Camejo a close number 2. Bustamonte way back in third. Arnold and Ariana locked in death wrestling match dead last.
Tom crushed the competition today, well everyone except for the green party guy who kept repeating something that for some reason no one could counter - that the rich in California pay a lower tax rate than the rest. Humm. Some of the knockout hammer slaps issued by Tom where, for example, the ONLY statement opposing Illegal immigration- " .. we have millions willing to abide by our immigration laws but, Illegal Immigration is tantamount to cutting in line. Another crushing blow by Tom was:" People are taking their families and companies from beautiful California to the middle of the desert because of the Davis administration. Wow. He was the only one who even pronouned the words Pro Life, all the others where silent, except for Bustamonte who stated he was pro-choice. And then putting the last nail in Arnolds coffin, Tom stated in his closing remarks: He was the only one to pledge - No tax increase and also to cut spending.
Arnold showed complete disrespect to the debate process. Constantly interrupting Bustamonte and Arianna and engaging in Personal attacks on both of them. (Clearly Arianna attacked him personally also.) Arianna stated it well, "Ok Arnold, lets see which person with a foreign accent can speak loudest." If he thinks he'll be able to shout down all of them in Sacramento, he's nuts. During one of the Arnold/huffington skirmishes, Adriana told Arnold that is much ballyhood Help the Children Program that Arnold helped pass was nothing but a publicity stunt because it was not funded. Arnold then cut his own throat by replying that the bill had a spending trigger that would only activate once the budget woes were taken care of. Well, that means that his precious little bill will never get a cent! If he felt so strongly about the chlildren he would not have supported that spending trigger.
Its clear all the media is for Arnold. He was the only one given time after the debate on all the channels to explain how he felt after the debate. And Arnold may have realized he had not done well when he said that he hoped to work with Tom in Sacramento. That's if Tom will have him.

Arnold did not lose this debate. I'd say it was pretty close between him and Tom.
Arianna Huffington's precence helped him more than anything he could have said. The woman is so completely insufferable that she drives people away from her political positions by her horrid personality and voice.
Airheadiana's voice is five times worse than the whining of a drunken ex-wife. She is so utterly repulsive that it's no wonder her former hubby started batting on the other side of the plate.

Dear all: The mere fact that you are discussing the pros and cons of the TWO republican candidates means we are DEAD. Have fun debating Tom vs. Arnold right up to the Bustamante victory. We can not afford to have the republican primary in the general election. It won't work in any state. Amen!

Tom was very boring, very competent, very and refereshingly firm on his principles. He will never get beyond his core vote and attract enough to win. All he will do is elect Bustamante. I continue to be truly amazed at conservatives who would rather turn over the state to someone far to the left of Davis. In the end, McClintock -- who you will find in non-website polls did NOT win the debate -- will be the Ross Perot candidate who elected Bustamante...and propelled him to a larger role within the Democratic party. And GWB will not have the slightest chance or hope in CA in 2004 (which looks already bad for him). But many in my state GOP insist this is the way it must be, which is why they elected Davis in the last election, putting up Simon, the most incompetent party candidate since the unlamented Mike Dukakis (whose wife was Kitty Litter Dukakis).
Watch the polls and analysis apart from conservative websites and programs. I suspect you will not find many saying McClintock won or dominated the debate. But he may have done well enough for HIS supporters not to abandon him, and elect Bustamante.

Did anybody else think that Arianna wants to have sex with Arnold?
During one of the other debates (the first I think), I was sure she wanted to have sex with Cruz.
A lusty woman, that greek goddess is!

I can't believe you're placing any sort of faith in a silly online poll on Blowhard O'Reilly's Web site.

I think we have to take McClintock at his word that he won't pull out of the race. That doesn't mean that he will continue to pull his current percentage in the polls, however. He did not go after Arnold in the debate -- if he thought he could leapfrog the pack, he probably would have. Now it isn't so much whether he will withdraw or not, but whether he will continue the tone of the debate (stay with his issues) or go after Arnold with "red meat" attacks.
I suspect he will stick with his debate tone for the rest of the election, and give Arnold a pass -- tacitly allowing the late bleed-off of some of his support to Arnold.
Just a guess because obviously I have no idea what is in McClintock's mind...but regardless, I don't think that McClintock remaining in the race will necessarily throw the race to Busta. It could, sure, but the liklihood from tonight is that Arnold will win anyway, albeit a close race, because the unions will ensure that Democrats get as much of their base out as will tolerate Busta -- which isn't all of it, for sure.

Arianna is a climber.
If Gary Coleman were to look as though he might win the election, Arianna would find a way to hump the little bastard before the election, and try to become California's first lady.

As Bill O'Reilly would say, knock of the spin. This also is a no spin zone. Someone cut off this guy's keyboard.

Tom was very boring, very competent, very and refereshingly firm on his principles. He will never get beyond his core vote and attract enough to win. Another good point. The reality is that far more voters don't care about this than do. I'm not saying that's a good thing, but it's reality. Image is everything to many voters. Proof of that is every time a Clinton is elected.
