Al-Jama'a Al-Salafiya Al-Mujahida Claims Responsibility for British Weapons Expert Death In Iraq
By Joel Leyden, Israel News Agency 24 September 2003
[The Saudi Islamic clerics that Al-Jama'a Al-Salafiya Al-Mujahida have links to are radicals and not part of the Saudi establishment. Unfortunately, over the years the Saudis declined to act against them, thus providing a hothouse for their development.]
An Israeli researcher has found the name of the terrorist group which murdered Ian Rimell, a 53-year-old British bomb disposal expert in Iraq on September 4.
Lt. Col. Yoni Halevi, who was performing private research for the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, discovered Al-Jama'a Al-Salafiya Al-Mujahida claim of responsibility for the murder on the official Web site Al-Jama'a Al-Salafiya Al-Mujahida.
According to Halevi, Al-Jama'a Al-Salafiya Al-Mujahida, has links to Islamic clerics in Saudi Arabia.
The married father-of-three was killed in a roadside ambush in northern Iraq near the city of Mosul.
Rimell's local bodyguard was seriously injured when they were attacked on a Thursday afternoon, as they drove along a main road to the northern Iraqi city.

From this day forward, any nation that continues

Well...almost 'any nation'
And, it would send a very useful message to our "friendly allies," the Saudis. Click below for further information.

Wow, you musta got an A in Psych 101!
The leftists like to make a big deal out of it, but that doesn't mean it isn't true, or at least worth an honest look.
If you're not sure where to start, try a google search for "bush oil saudi arabia" and start reading. That search returns about 380,000 hits.
Just because you don't know about something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Also, it is no one's responsibility but your own to educate yourself on matters of documented fact. It is not swarthyguy's job, nor mine, nor the government's. It's yours.
However, being the nice guy that I am, I can summarize my findings for you:
1. Yes, there is a definite, undeniable connection between the Bush oil empire and Saudi Arabia, and that directly and personally includes George W. Bush, notably in such ventures as Spectrum 7 Energy Corporation, Harken Energy and Arbusto Energy, which he founded.
2. Some of these companies were involved in some questionable dealings, notably Harken, which was involved in the shady dealings of BCCI. I have found no evidence of criminal involvement on the part of Bush, but there are no saints in the oil business, only sinners.
3. While I have seen no direct, documented proof that Saudi oil figures prominently in Bush (elder and younger) Middle East policy, the circumstantial evidence is far too strong to be ignored. Associates of the Bush family have profited tremendously during both Bush presidencies as a direct result of administration policy. While there is, again, no evidence of wrongdoing, it is at best disingenuous to suggest that these things have no bearing on Bush administration policy, or any other presidents' foreign policies, for that matter. Oil is a strategic interest, not just a financial one.
4. Statements by both Bush presidents unequivocally assert the (totally reasonable) policy of the United States guarding Middle East oil reserves at all costs, ensuring our access to them, and, by no creative extension, the access of U.S. oil interests -- with which both presidents have direct and personal relationships -- to Middle East oil reserves, including those of Saudi Arabia.
5. Bush has overtly, publicly and specifically supported the Saudi royal family in both deeds and words as "one of our strongest allies", and backed this up with administration policy, even in the face of irrefutable evidence that major funding for Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups originates from members of the House of Saud. Make of this what you will.
I am neither a Bush lover or Bush hater, just an observer and student of strategery. I do admire Bush's understated political genius -- the man is definitely no fool. But that doesn't mean I trust him unquestioningly.
