How wonderful it is, that you have found something like this to do. I can see that the work you do with the mission is very rewarding.. Giving back is a two way street... Thanks for your concern..

And then there are the times we need to tell others they are friends, NOW!
A KEEPER
It was a way of life, and sometimes it made me crazy. All that re-fixing, reheating, renewing, I wanted just once to be wasteful. Waste meant affluence. Throwing things away meant you knew there'd always be more.
But then my Father died, and on that clear summer's night, in the warmth of the hospital room, I was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any
'more.'
Sometimes, what we care about most gets all used up and goes away...never to return.
So...while we have it...it's best we love it.....
and care for it .....and fix it when it's broken.....and heal it when it's sick.
This is true.....for marriage.....and old cars.....
And children with bad report cards.....and dogs with bad hips.....and aging parents.....and grandparents.
We! keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it. Some things we keep.
Like a best friend that moved away -- or -- a classmate we grew up with.
There are just some things that make life important, like people we know who are special.....and so, we keep them close!
You're a Keeper!

Yesterday my husband was told his cancer has returned....
Prayers lifted for you and your husband. (I lost my husband to cancer in 1989.)
I don't know you so I hope my thoughts and prayers are received in the spirit in which they're intended. I'll say a special prayer asking God to provide you with the strength or whatever else you'll need to help you as you share your comforting love with your husband in the time you have left together. "Letting go and letting God" isn't always easy. (I don't believe that's because of any lack of faith. It's because we're only human, and He understands that.)
For some reason, "This Little Light of Mine" keeps going through my head as I write this....

Have I Told You Lately . . .
Have I told you lately that I love you . . .
How is it that we can go through life taking for granted all of those wonderful people that make life worth living, without ever telling them? How could we be so distracted that we overlook the importance of the
devotion, caring, and warmth that our loved ones provide?
What would you do if tomorrow they were simply gone, vanished . . . forever . . .? How would you feel? What was the last thing you said to them? What would you say to bring them back? What would you do differently?
What if I told you that it isn't too late to say what you really feel to all of the special people that make such a difference in your world . . .
. . . and to all of those special souls that are waiting for us . . .
Tell them . . . tell them now . . .
Have I told you.. how much I love you . . .
Well, just in case . . . I'm telling you now . . . I love you . . . sealed with a kiss.

If you have loved once, you can and will again.. Only a true lover can find love in all its hiding places....
I seem to keep bumping into you -- but always late. Here's what I hope is accepted as my {{{better-late-than-never hug}}}.
