Fresno hit with $1m claim on commission's news release

A lawyer for Free Republic filed a claim Monday with the city of Fresno, contending the Human Relations Commission defamed the local conservative organization with a news release labeling it "a hate group."

The organization is seeking more than $1 million in damages, Fresno lawyer Charles L. Doerksen said.
